1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ilya Kovalchuk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tweety Johnson! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovalchuk has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Kovalchuk with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Johnson tries to clinch but Kovalchuk is having none of it. Crunch! Johnson slams his shin into Kovalchuk's torso. Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Kovalchuk, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Kovalchuk against the ropes but Kovalchuk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Johnson fails to land the takedown. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Kovalchuk paws at him with a jab and circles away. Johnson throws a body punch but Kovalchuk moves out of range. Kovalchuk throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beam throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chara's waist but Chara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beam off to one side. Chara throws a head kick that Beam semi-blocks.
Beam shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Beam was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Beam lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Beam trying to control but Chara is having none of it. Chara is trying to stand up. Beam landing strikes from the mount and Chara is in trouble! Chara sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Chara gets full guard. Chara not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Chara is looking to stand up but Beam isn't so interested in that idea. Beam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Chara is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chara is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chara thows a big elbow that misses. Beam is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Chara trying to control the position from guard on top but Beam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chara drops back looking for a leg! Beam is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Beam manages to kick Chara off! Chara jumps back into Beam's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Chara decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Chara tries to score a body lock takedown but Beam shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Beam is trying to break the clinch but Chara has him pressed against the ropes. Chara lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Chara breaks from the clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyueds fails with a takedown attempt. Johnson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Tyueds is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Tyueds is looking to break free of the clinch but Johnson has double underhooks. Johnson is trying to trip Tyueds. He has hold of a leg but Tyueds is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Johnson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Tyueds has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tyueds escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tyueds wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Tyueds has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.

Tyueds tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tyueds circles away quickly and effectively. Johnson pushes Tyueds up against the ropes in a clinch. Johnson tightens his grip and picks Tyueds up, before dumping him to the ground. Tyueds manages to land in guard. Johnson landing with the ground and pound. Johnson stands and steps away. Tyueds gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The fight moves into the clinch position.
