4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Red! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! maykit shoots for a takedown but Red saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Red closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming maykit to the mat! maykit manages to get full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. maykit has a closed guard, preventing Red from standing up. Red must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Red scoring with some ground and pound. maykit is breathing heavily. Red drops back looking for a leg! maykit is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and maykit manages to kick Red off! Red jumps back into maykit's guard. maykit looking to control.
Red trying to control the position from guard on top but maykit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. maykit is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Red shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and maykit counters with a shoot takedown. Red fights it but they end up in guard. Red throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! maykit escapes and throws Red's legs to the side, diving into side control! maykit tries to move to mount but Red blocks the move with his legs. maykit is looking to take a break and control but Red is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Red is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Red's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Red manages to get back to half guard. Red is looking for a sweep. maykit is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. maykit will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. maykit trying to control the action but Red is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Red darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. maykit controlling the position well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. maykit is looking for a sweep. Red is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Red is working for a submission of some sort.
maykit gets full guard. maykit has his hands on Red's head, controlling the position. maykit had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Red is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. maykit Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Red's back instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Red defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of maykit's arms. A lull in the action here.

That was a close round but I would say that willie maykit will probably get the nod. That's time! maykit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Red misses with a takedown attempt and maykit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Red's guard. maykit trying to control but Red is working from the bottom. maykit stopping the sweep attempt from Red. maykit wanted to stand there but Red had control of the position. maykit preventing the sweep. maykit wants to pass the guard but Red is keeping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Red is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and maykit defends well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Red has his takedown stuffed and maykit counters with a nice double leg into guard. maykit content to stall in guard here. Red keeping moving, preventing maykit from controlling successfully.

Red is positioning himself to get back to half guard. maykit advances nicely into full mount. maykit really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. maykit postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Red looks a forlorn figure.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Red tries to hold on but maykit postures up. Red bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Red drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and maykit dives on top into guard. Red trying to strike off his back.
maykit has gone for a leg lock! Red slips out almost immediately though and dives into maykit's guard. maykit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Red is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. maykit wanted to stand there but Red had control of the position. maykit trying to control but Red is working from the bottom. maykit is really struggling to control Red but he's trying to hold on to the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee stands the fighters back up. willie maykit just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Red with a poor takedown and maykit counters with a nice double leg into guard. willie maykit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Red. maykit advances position into side control! maykit is staying tight to Red's torso, preventing him from escaping. Big Red has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! willie maykit is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. maykit advances to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! willie maykit showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for maykit, winning every round. Will the judges agree? DeSade feints and then cracks Liddel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Liddel down. DeSade throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ouch! a nice leg kick from DeSade, right into the meat.

and DeSade counters with an outside leg kick.
A head kick from DeSade lands but Liddel takes it in his stride. DeSade stalks Liddel and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Liddel's face. Liddel staggers backwards, shaken. DeSade takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Liddel stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from DeSade. DeSade connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. DeSade lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Liddel backs up against the ropes.
Liddel has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by DeSade. Liddel takes a shot to the body in his stride.
DeSade lands a nice looking body kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. DeSade throws a nice outside leg kick. DeSade fakes the leg kick and cracks Liddel in the body. DeSade throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

DeSade closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. DeSade is trying to force a seperation but Liddel has the dominant position. DeSade is trying to break the clinch but Liddel is controlling him. Liddel is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. DeSade breaks the clinch.
DeSade throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Liddel. DeSade looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
DeSade feints and then cracks Liddel's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Liddel down. DeSade thumps Liddel with a low kick. DeSade steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Liddel. Liddel will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. DeSade clinches up with Liddel and pushes him back against the ropes. Liddel stops a takedown attempt from DeSade.

DeSade is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. DeSade lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Liddel is trying to stand up here but DeSade is controlling him well. DeSade slips a nice elbow through Liddel's hands, connecting with Liddel's forehead. Chuck Liddel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. DeSade landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Liddel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. DeSade looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kenny Gomi will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
