The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tittles throws a looping overhand right but Sumrall ducks down to avoid it. Tittles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sumrall circles away quickly and effectively. Sumrall avoids the body shot from Tittles.

Tittles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sumrall as he avoids it easily. Tittles throws a jab but it's blocked by Sumrall. Tittles will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sumrall shoots in but no luck this time. Sumrall scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Nice strikes from Sumrall there. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tittles tries to get to full guard but Sumrall has control of the leg. Tittles is working hard here to advance position. Sumrall seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Doinel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Somebody napping and manages to drive through into side control! Somebody is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Somebody is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Doinel fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Doinel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Somebody has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Doinel has managed to get both his arms back between Somebody's legs - danger averted. Doinel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Doinel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Somebody is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Somebody wants to free his trapped foot but Doinel is holding on for dear life with his legs. Somebody looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Doinel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doinel is pressing down on Somebody's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Somebody passes Doinel's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Nice strikes from Somebody there. Doinel is trying to get back to full guard. Somebody tries to pass to full mount but Doinel defends it. Somebody is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Doinel actively working from the bottom here. Doinel is trying to get back to full guard. Somebody has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Doinel defend it? Somebody steps over the head and cranks it - Doinel is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Somebody!
