The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva dives in and grabs Hughes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hughes pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.
Hughes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hughes lands a really nice looking cross but Silva seems unphased.
Hughes is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Thiago Silva has been cut.
Hughes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silva slips a straight right by Hughes.
Hughes tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sean Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes misses with a looping left.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Hughes, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Hughes against the cage but Hughes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
