The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pfeifer. Pfeifer takes the fight into the clinch. Pfeifer is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Pfeifer prevents the takedown attempt.
Franco goes for a takedown attempt but Pfeifer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pfeifer is defended easily by Franco. No luck with that takedown attempt from Pfeifer. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Pfeifer. Pfeifer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Franco is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pfeifer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pfeifer has his foot on Franco's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Franco works his way back into a safe position though. Franco wants to control from the top but Pfeifer keeps moving. Franco trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Pfeifer manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Machida drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Machida looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Machida's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Machida pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zoyeraus is keeping the position for now. Zoyeraus working for submissions but it's allowed Machida to get to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! sergio liddell showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for liddell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Xavier shoots for a double leg takedown but Shogun sprawls well. He's pushed Xavier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Xavier. Shogun shoots in for a takedown but Xavier shows good takedown defense. Shogun throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Xavier's waist but Xavier gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shogun off to one side. Shogun gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Xavier to score an easy takedown into full guard. Shogun is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Xavier creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Shogun is looking to get back to his feet here but Xavier is keeping cool and he's managed to take Shogun's back. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avelino misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Avelino's head. Avelino is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Avelino not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Avelino has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Avelino's legs - danger averted.
And that's the end of the fight! Andre Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
