The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Junior looks to score with a jab to the body but Matterson is just out of range. Matterson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Matterson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Matterson tries to pull guard but Junior won't allow it.
Matterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A lazy left from Matterson finds it's target. Junior connects with a looping right hand.
Junior showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Matterson.

Junior throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Matterson was covering up waiting for the punch and Junior finishes the takedown easily into guard. Junior trying to control the position from guard on top but Matterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Matterson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Junior defends well. Junior stops Matterson from standing up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Junior accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We're now in half guard. Junior working Matterson over with strikes. Junior looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Matterson is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Junior jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Matterson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Matterson and Junior has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Junior looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Junior wants to control but Matterson is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Junior throws an elbow but Matterson slips to the side and avoids it well. Junior tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Junior has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Matterson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Junior asserts his dominance and retains side control. Matterson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Junior wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Junior has hold of Matterson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Matterson seems comfortable defending it but Junior has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Matterson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Matterson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Junior couldn't care less - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dent moves out of range of the leg kick from Yomomma. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Dent. Yomomma is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dent. Yomomma closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dent did well to prevent Yomomma getting side control. Yomomma wants to take a breather but Dent is having none of it. Dent lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Dent is trying to control but can't.
Dent is trying to get back to full guard. Dent works his way to full guard. Good work. Yomomma postures up.

Dent is trying to maintain the position but Yomomma is very close to passing his half guard. Yomomma is keen to just control but Dent is a slippery customer. Yomomma works his foot free and advances to mount. Dent is trying to escape the mount.

Yomomma can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dent is looking to escape. Dent has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Yomomma has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Dent taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Luuttu wants to improve his position but Machado is controlling well.
Machado is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Luuttu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Machado. Machado works his foot free and advances to mount. Luuttu tries to hold on but Machado pushes him away.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blue doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blue manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ricky Jericho is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Blue throws a hook but Jericho avoids it easily.
