 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cadaver looks to land a combination but Flannagan avoids it well.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tnencinv, right into the meat.
Tnencinv will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Tnencinv is looking to clinch. Tnencinv goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Decent striking displayed by Tnencinv there. Rogers lands a big uppercut and Martinez crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Martinez looks OK. Rogers waves Martinez back to his feet!
 It looks like Andy Martinez has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rogers drops Martinez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Rogers follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas just misses with a punch to the body.
Male throws a front kick that sends Thomas stumbling back into the cage. Male swings for the body but Thomas moves out of range.
Male is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thomas. Thomas gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Thomas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Male was covering up waiting for the punch and Thomas finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Male utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Thomas has gone for a leg lock! Male slips out almost immediately though and dives into Thomas's guard. Male is in close to Thomas's body, working some short punches and elbows. Male trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Male has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Thomas is proving hard to escape from. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Male accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas trying to keep a closed guard but Male is proving a slippery customer.
Male wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving. Thomas working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Male. Male must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

 It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Male bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Thomas avoids the head kick by Male.
Thomas throws a right and a left that both miss. Thomas throws a jab when Male was well out of range. Male connects with a looping right hand.
 It looks like Doc Thomas has been cut. Male throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alpha Male seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas looks to land a combination. Male sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Male throws a series of punches but Thomas avoids them all with ease. Alpha Male is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Male uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thomas has time to react.

Thomas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Male looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Male sneaks out the side door and pushes Thomas away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Male throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thomas. Thomas swings for the body but Male moves out of range.

Thomas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Male was well out of range. Poor timing from Thomas.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Male finds it's way through Thomas's defenses. Male leaves Thomas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doc Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Male connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Thomas misses with an uppercut. Male saw that one coming. Male swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Thomas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Thomas takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Male clobbers Thomas with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Male tests Thomas's chin there with a solid looking shot. Thomas throws a lazy body kick and Male cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Thomas takes a jab right on the kisser.
Male cracks a nice hook into Thomas's ribs. Thomas takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Male lands with an uppercut that bounces Thomas off the cage and back into rage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Male lands the left hand.
 Doc Thomas's cut is getting worse. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Male buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Male scores with a crisp jab that stopped Thomas in his tracks. Male chopping away at his opponent's legs.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Alpha Male dominated that round. The cut man is working on Doc Thomas's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Male throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Male fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. A swing and a miss from Male. Male throws out a powerful jab. Alpha Male seems to be getting the better of the standup. Thomas takes one on the button. Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Male tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Male misses with a kick to the body.

Male scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Thomas on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Male just misses with a punch to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A big right from Thomas misses.
Thomas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thomas throwing strikes but missing. Male is controlling Thomas's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Male is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Thomas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Thomas wants to control from the top but Male keeps moving.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Thomas postures up in Male's guard and throws a big left but Male blocks it. Thomas throws and elbow that misses. Male uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Thomas's guard. Nice move by Male!
Thomas is looking for a triangle but Male pushes his legs off easily.
Male has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Male is in close to Thomas's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Male gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Male looking to sit in guard and control but Thomas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Male is on top in guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Male throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Thomas works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Male throws and elbow that misses. Thomas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Male's guard. Nice move by Thomas! Thomas slips nicely into half guard. Male trying to control but Thomas postures up.
Male is defending against the submission attempts here by Thomas.

Alpha Male showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Doc Thomas's cut. That's the end of the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Thomas checks a leg kick. Thomas moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Thomas steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Male. That one must have hurt. Doc Thomas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Male drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Male throws a right and a left that Thomas avoids nicely. Thomas throws a body punch but Male moves out of range. Male takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Male tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Thomas misses with the body kick and Male counters with a solid body kick. Thomas connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Male momentarily.

Ouch with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Koivu to score with a decent uppercut. Ouch takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Ouch is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Koivu takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
