The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wascon is fending him off so far but Shadow persists. Nope, Wascon circles away and we're back to standing.
Shadow misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Shadow shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wascon as he avoids it easily.
Phil Wascon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danilo Shadow.
Wascon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shadow.

Shadow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Wascon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shadow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shadow is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wascon connects with a nice short shot to Shadow's temple.
Shadow regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Wascon.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Shadow pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Wascon thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Shadow to regain full guard.

Shadow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wascon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wascon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shadow is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wascon is controlling him.
Wascon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wascon wants to pass the guard but Shadow is keeping the position.
Wascon throws a strike but Shadow rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wascon won't enjoy being in this position. Shadow looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Wascon is tapping - it's over boys! Shadow picks up the submission victory!
