Dawson leaves Nunez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dawson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Julio Nunez has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nunez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dawson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nunez is working away from the top position though.
Nunez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
