Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vakuumi Pussi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akira Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Akira Sakurai was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Sakurai! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pussi keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sakurai tries to bum rush Pussi with a series of wild strikes but Pussi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pussi looks for a takedown but Sakurai sprawls well. Sakurai misses with a two punch combination.

Pussi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sakurai but Sakurai pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pussi fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vakuumi Pussi. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sakurai throws a series of punches but Pussi avoids them all with ease. Sakurai goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Pussi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sakurai is fending him off so far but Pussi persists. Nope, Sakurai circles away and we're back to standing. Akira Sakurai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pussi moves in looking to clinch but Sakurai pushes him off. Sakurai tries to clinch up but Pussi circles away and keeps his distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pussi closes the distance and clinches up with Sakurai, looking for a takedown. Pussi pushes Sakurai against the ropes but Sakurai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Sakurai rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pussi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pussi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Pussi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sakurai as he avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Sakurai as Pussi shoots in. Pussi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sakurai's waist but Sakurai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pussi off to one side. Pussi is breathing heavily. Sakurai scores with a jab to the jaw. Sakurai moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. A left and a right from Sakurai both land. Nice combination. A combination from Sakurai does no damage. Sakurai misses with a wild combination.
Pussi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Sakurai throws a low kick but Pussi avoids it. Pussi dodges the punch combination from Sakurai.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sakurai lands with a straight right. Pussi didn't see that one coming. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! No joy there for Sakurai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pussi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Sakurai moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Pussi is rocked! Sakurai lands with a right and another and another! Pussi is in big trouble! Sakurai lands again and this time it's lights out for Pussi! A quality knockout there for Sakurai.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakayama throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bu. Nakayama is looking to chop away at Bu's legs. Horrible takedown by Bu or perhaps it was just good defense by Nakayama which made him look bad. Bu shoots in and drives through. Nakayama sprawls well. Bu is looking to clinch. Nakayama throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Bu shoots in but no luck this time. Tsuyoshi Nakayama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ma Bu. A lazy left from Nakayama finds it's target.

Bu shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nakayama but Nakayama pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bu darts in and clinches Nakayama up against the ropes. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bu. Bu avoiding damage.
Bu is working for takedown but Nakayama is calmly controlling the position for now.

Nakayama wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Bu misses with a knee to the head. Bu fails to pull guard.
Bu jumps into guard, dragging Nakayama to the mat.
Bu trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Bu working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Nakayama has passed into half guard!
Bu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bu is not content to let Nakayama control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bu trying to control here.

Tsuyoshi Nakayama dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ma Bu's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Nakayama connects with a stiff jab that staggers Bu - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshida misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yoshida wants to clinch. Yoshida throws a right and a left that Perkovich avoids nicely. Perkovich should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Yoshida tries to clinch but Perkovich moves out of range. Perkovich shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yoshida as he jumps to the side. A shot to de liver by Yoshida. Beautiful body shot. Yoshida is looking to clinch. Perkovich shoots in but Yoshida avoids the takedown attempt easily. Perkovich closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Perkovich tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Perkovich tries to move to mount but Yoshida blocks the move with his legs. Yoshida tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Yoshida is trying to get back to his feet but Perkovich has full control of the position and if anything, Yoshida has just worked his way into a worse spot. Perkovich working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Yoshida is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Perkovich has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Yoshida taps out!

The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Burnett has given up his back here. Will Katsuro look for the submission or keep pounding away?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Katsuro is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Burnett has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Burnett breaks Katsuro's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Katsuro looks gassed! Burnett trying to control the position from guard on top but Katsuro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Burnett wants to stand but Katsuro has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Burnett throwing strikes but missing. Burnett has gone for a leg lock! Katsuro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Burnett's guard. Burnett looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Katsuro puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Katsuro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Burnett wants to get back to full guard. Burnett is trying to control but can't.
Burnett regains full guard. Nicely done. Burnett seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Burnett tries to strike from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Katsuro stopping the sweep attempt from Burnett. Burnett trying to keep a closed guard but Katsuro is proving a slippery customer.

Katsuro moves into full mount! Burnett won't be happy about that! Katsuro has hold of Burnett's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Burnett manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Katsuro manages to capitalize on a mistake by Burnett to take his back! Burnett turns into Katsuro and is now in his guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Katsuro gets a takedown into half guard. Ground and pound from Katsuro. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burnett tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Burnett is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Burnett is looking to stand up but Katsuro isn't so interested in that idea. Katsuro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Katsuro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Burnett working for a triangle but Katsuro defends it easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luanglathay stuffs the takedown attempt from Humperdink. Humperdink gets slowly back to his feet. Luanglathay looks gassed!
