The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko shoots in and bounces Lim off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Emelianenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Emelianenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Emelianenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Emelianenko drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lim looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lim looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lim! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko taking punishment in the form of punches.
Emelianenko manages to get back to half guard. Emelianenko wants to control but Lim is keeping busy.
Emelianenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Emelianenko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Emelianenko looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Lim tries to pass to full mount but Emelianenko defends it. Emelianenko throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. An inside leg kick lands from Lim. Lim lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Emelianenko backs up against the cage.
It looks like Fedor Emelianenko has been cut. Lim clinches up against the cage. Lim escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dan Lim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Emelianenko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lim closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. A lull in the action here as Lim stalls from top position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Emelianenko sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lim scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lim is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Emelianenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lim is one step ahead there. Lim landing with the ground and pound. Lim decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Emelianenko, up you get! Lim looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Lim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Emelianenko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lim has managed to get both his arms back between Emelianenko's legs - danger averted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lim's guard. Emelianenko is looking to work some ground and pound but Lim has wrist control. Lim throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Emelianenko drops back looking for a leg! Lim is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lim manages to kick Emelianenko off! Emelianenko jumps back into Lim's guard. Emelianenko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lim works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Emelianenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Lim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lim trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lim wants to get back to his feet but Emelianenko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Emelianenko misses with a takedown attempt and Lim counters with a nice double leg into side control. Emelianenko won't be happy with that. Emelianenko manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lim's best efforts. Emelianenko actively working from the bottom here. Emelianenko is pressing down on Lim's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Lim wants to control from the top but Emelianenko keeps moving. Emelianenko looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Lim is defending well. Emelianenko quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Lim has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fedorenko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rotch loads up on a big right hand but Fedorenko slips the punch. Fedorenko fails to land the takedown. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fedorenko is defended easily by Rotch. Mike Rotch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Fedorenko. Fedorenko gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Rotch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Fedorenko. Rotch misses with a wild body shot. Fedorenko fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Fedorenko shoots in but Rotch avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Still in half guard, Rotch seems content to control. Rotch tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Fedorenko. Rotch is working for a kimura but Fedorenko is defending it quite comfortably.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rotch drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rotch gets to his feet - Fedorenko follows without any prompting. Rotch with a nice cross. Vladimir Fedorenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A punch combination from Rotch misses. Rotch lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Fedorenko. Rotch shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fedorenko's guard. Chase throws an overhand right that lands on Manbearpig's shoulder, as Manbearpig tries to avoid the shot. Chase tries to keep at a distance but Manbearpig has taken the fight into the clinch. Chase drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Manbearpig gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Chase goes for a takedown attempt but Manbearpig pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Manbearpig steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Chase . Nice shot lands for Chase . Chase shoots in for a takedown but Manbearpig shows good takedown defense. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Doubleday fails with the takedown and Salmelainen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Doubleday! Salmelainen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salmelainen tries to push Doubleday's head away but Doubleday is holding on tight. Doubleday swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. DeNomee slips out almost immediately though and dives into Yamamoto's guard. Yamamoto lands a decent punch to the body there. Yamamoto had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. DeNomee is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Yamamoto Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take DeNomee's back instead. Yamamoto is trying to stick to DeNomee's back but DeNomee is turning into Yamamoto. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Yamamoto's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by DeNomee. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yamamoto looking for subs off his back but DeNomee has passed one foot through into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yamamoto looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. DeNomee keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Yamamoto looking for submissions off his back. DeNomee wants to control but Yamamoto is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Yamamoto trying to hold on to DeNomee's head to control him but DeNomee postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamamoto throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Yamamoto looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Yamamoto is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but DeNomee pulls his head out easily. Yamamoto tries to roll over but DeNomee keeps him under control. Masahiro Yamamoto overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Yamamoto flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. DeNomee trying to mount his opponent but Yamamoto defends it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. DeNomee closes the distance and pushes Yamamoto back into the cage. DeNomee landing knees to the body.
Yamamoto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as DeNomee walks away with a smile on his face. Yamamoto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Steven DeNomee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Yamamoto darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Yamamoto thows a huge punch but DeNomee dodges it nicely.
DeNomee regains full guard. Nicely done. DeNomee looking for a sweep. Not yet DeNomee, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Masahiro Yamamoto. I think Yamamoto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
