The bell rings for round one and we are underway! van Frankrijk shoots in and drives through. Lesnar sprawls well. Lesnar pivots, looking for a leg kick but van Frankrijk is out of range and Lesnar settles back down. The fight stays on the outside here - Lesnar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. van Frankrijk shoots in looking for a takedown. Lesnar tries to sprawl out of it but van Frankrijk keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lesnar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lesnar moves into the clinch. van Frankrijk stops a takedown attempt from Lesnar.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. de Silva struggling a bit here. de Silva is positioning himself to get back to half guard. de Rijger wants to stand but de Silva has his arm trapped. de Rijger has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. de Rijger avoids a punch combination nicely.

Schembri is fending him off so far but Murphy persists. Nope, Schembri circles away and we're back to standing. Schembri uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Murphy. Jab from Murphy. Nice defenses there by Murphy. Murphy keeps the fight on the outside. Schembri tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Schembri darts in and clinches Murphy up against the cage. Murphy tries to land knees in the clinch but Schembri avoids the damage to the body. Schembri is fighting off a takedown attempt but Murphy is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Schembri to the mat. Schembri regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Davids gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Barbossa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Davids wants to sweep but no luck. Barbossa wants to control from the top but Davids keeps moving. Davids is adopting a defensive guard. Davids is trying to control the position from the bottom.
