Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allen Viz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maverick Luna! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luna shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Luna stays in close to Viz's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Luna must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Viz wants to stand up but Luna is controlling him. Luna stands up and waves to Viz to follow him. A head kick misses from Luna. Luna tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Viz was well out of range. Poor timing from Luna.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luna fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Viz, pushing him back against the cage. Viz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Luna pulls his leg out and moves away.
Viz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Luna counters with a shoot takedown. Viz fights it but they end up in guard. Luna decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Viz darts in trying to clinch and Luna counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Viz's guard now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Luna stands up from Viz's guard - Luna perhaps looking for a knockout. Luna shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Luna with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Luna prevents Viz from standing back up.
Viz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Luna's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Luna's back! Luna finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes. Luna manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Viz trying to control from half guard but Luna is working away. Luna is controlling Viz's trapped leg to prevent Viz from advancing to side control. Viz throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Luna is positioning himself well to prevent Viz advancing to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Viz drops an elbow to the side of Luna's head. Luna is trying to get back to full guard. Viz seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Viz is breathing heavily. Luna regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Viz. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maverick Luna dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Luna attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Luna shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Luna tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Viz tries to lock up and control but Luna gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Luna controlling from mount. Viz is trying to escape the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luna avoids the attempt from Viz to control. A nice elbow there by Luna. Luna sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Viz is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Luna controlling from the full mount. Viz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Luna jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Viz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Viz and Luna has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Luna politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Luna prefers to stall for the moment though. Viz is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Luna creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Viz is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Viz is being controlled here. Luna landing strikes. Viz is looking for a sweep. Luna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Viz keeps working. Viz is trying to escape the position but Luna is controlling the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Despite being in the dominant position, Maverick Luna just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Viz darts in trying to clinch and Luna counters with a single leg into guard. Viz didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maverick Luna showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Luna takes a kick to the side of the head. Luna is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Viz's half guard. Viz wants to get back to full guard. Luna is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Viz is desperately trying to improve his position but Luna has a good base and remains in mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Viz tries to lock up and control but Luna gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Viz's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A nice elbow there by Luna. Maverick Luna has got the better of the ground game so far. Viz tries to reverse the position but Luna maintains control. Luna putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Luna landing shots from mount. Viz tries to hold on but Luna postures up. Luna connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Viz is wriggling around trying to escape.
Luna controlling the pace for now. Luna pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Luna controlling the position easily from mount. Viz is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Luna takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Allen Viz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Maverick Luna is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Viz is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Maverick Luna comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Luna winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jelsky fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jelsky feints and as Steve raises his hands in defense, Jelsky changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jelsky prevents Steve from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jelsky seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Steve clinches up with Jelsky and pushes him back against the cage. Steve manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jelsky tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Steve counters with a straight right hand. Jelsky throws a head kick that misses and Steve counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jelsky is lucky that one didn't land flush. Andrew Jelsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jelsky tries to clinch up and Steve holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Jelsky has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Steve is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Jelsky wants a takedown.

It's a sloppy attempt though and Jelsky jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jelsky won't allow Steve to get back to his feet. Goku Steve dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Jelsky with a poor takedown and Steve counters with a big head kick but Jelsky shrugs it off. Steve throws a head kick that misses. Jelsky tries to clinch up enabling Steve to counter with a crisp jab. Jelsky clinches but Steve breaks the clinch and Steve cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jelsky has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jelsky there as he acknowledges the shot.
It looks like Andrew Jelsky has been cut. Danga de danga de dang - Steve scores with a four punch combination! Jelsky is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jelsky clinches but Steve breaks the clinch and Steve counters with a two punch combo.
Jelsky is rocked! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Steve lands a nice shot to the body.

Jelsky takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Jelsky has his takedown stuffed and Steve counters by moving into the clinch. Jelsky gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Steve.
Steve using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jelsky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jelsky blocks a head kick by Steve.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nagiev's waist but Nagiev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Taylor off to one side. Taylor avoids the head kick by Nagiev.
Taylor tries to clinch up. Taylor dives in and grabs Nagiev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nagiev pushes down on Taylor's head and hops out. Nagiev is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nagiev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Taylor.

Bryan Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nagiev lands a nice leg kick that just misses Taylor's sensitive parts. Taylor dives in and grabs Nagiev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nagiev pushes down on Taylor's head and hops out. Dmitry Nagiev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Taylor. Taylor throws a head kick but Nagiev moves out of range.
Taylor misses with a straight left. Taylor misses with a takedown attempt - Nagiev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nagiev keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hobbs scores with a takedown into Johnson's guard. Johnson wants to stand and escape but Hobbs is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hobbs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hobbs is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Hobbs has managed to sneak the leg through. Hobbs is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hobbs off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Hobbs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Krestner has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Prefect finds it's way round the side to connect with Krestner's head. Prefect moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Krestner throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Prefect throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Krestner counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Prefect is pressing down on Krestner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Prefect will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

A close fourth round but Ford Prefect will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Shane Krestner's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Krestner. Shane Krestner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Prefect taking punishment in the form of punches.
Krestner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Prefect to see if he's OK. Prefect tries to get back to half guard but can't. Krestner lands an elbow. Prefect tries to buck Krestner off but Krestner is having none of it. Krestner lands a decent elbow from side control. Krestner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krestner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Prefect sneaks back into half guard. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Krestner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Prefect swivels though and keeps the full guard. Krestner passes into half guard. Prefect tries to get to full guard but Krestner has control of the leg. Krestner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Krestner is nestled in close to Prefect, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Prefect makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Prefect. Krestner working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Prefect's head. Prefect trying to keep a closed guard but Krestner is proving a slippery customer.
Krestner thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Prefect is looking to sinch up a triangle. Krestner throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Prefect's body to avoid the submission. Prefect has instead reached around Krestner's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Prefect arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Win Rar! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Johnston! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rar does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Johnston clinches. Johnston is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Johnston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnston avoids it really well and circles away. Rar tries to clinch but fails miserably and Johnston connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rar has his takedown stuffed and Johnston counters by moving into the clinch. Johnston gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rar.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Win Rar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rar tries for a takedown but Johnston circles away easily and Johnston counters by clinching up. Johnston is trying to force a seperation but Rar has the dominant position. Johnston gets underhooks to prevent Rar's takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnston is trying to break free. Johnston wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Johnston wants to break free but Rar has control.
Johnston avoids the elbow strike from Rar, against the cage.
Rar goes for a takedown attempt but Johnston pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rar misses the body punch and Johnston counters with a beautiful punch that sends Rar to the canvas!
Rar is rocked! Johnston would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Oh Rar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Johnston gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Johnston engages and cracks Rar with a massive lead left hook - Rar tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Johnston is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
