McCowan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but McCowan keeps working. Silva is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but McCowan still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, McCowan has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McCowan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Silva manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Tony McCowan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McCowan is working away from the top position though. McCowan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Matheus Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCowan defends well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! santana has closed the distance and engaged Vitorino in a clinch.
Vitorino has clasped his hands together around santana's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. santana is trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Vitorino thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. santana is trying to get back to half guard.

santana is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Vitorino gets his way!

This could be all over! santana refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of santana's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fat leaves JackSon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Fat doesn't manage to clinch there - JackSon circles away.
Fat instigates a clinch. JackSon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
JackSon pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. JackSon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Fat with an attempt at a knee that misses.

It looks like DeSean JackSon has been cut. JackSon looking for a takedown. Fat Fat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DeSean JackSon. Fat lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Fat putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has JackSon in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. JackSon looks gassed! Fat landing some nice looking knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fat jerks JackSon's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! JackSon drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Fat goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Fat because JackSon was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henrique tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sewell swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sewell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Henrique sprawls well initially but Sewell persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sewell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Sewell drops an elbow to the side of Henrique's head. Henrique is trying to stand up here but Sewell is controlling him well. Henrique is looking to control Sewell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Henrique avoid being mounted? Sewell content to control rather than advance. Henrique wants to control but Sewell is keeping busy.

You can see the frustration on Henrique's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sewell tries to stand but Henrique is controlling his head. Henrique throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Henrique gets back to half guard. Henrique is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henrique works his way to full guard. Good work. Sewell wants to stand but Henrique is controlling his posture from full guard. Sewell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Henrique is trying to keep Sewell in close.

Oh but Henrique is tightening it up a little... Sewell has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sewell reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sewell taps out! nice BJJ there by Henrique!
