Hain is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Barzakov is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Barzakov flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hain anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Barzakov and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hain slips an arm under Barzakov chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hain has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hain is squeezing on Barzakov like an anaconda would it's prey. Barzakov fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Strap kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Thunderstruck by ACDC. Slay has chosen Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Slay lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Strap tries to close the distance and clinch up but Slay swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Strap dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharpe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hakusho was well out of range. Poor timing from Sharpe.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hakusho has control of Sharpe's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sharpe regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Hakusho can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sharpe is looking to escape.

Hakusho breaks from Sharpe's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hakusho lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sharpe hang on?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hakusho goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sharpe is on top in guard.

Hakusho is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hakusho uses his free foot to push down on Sharpe's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sharpe.
