Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim Thomas told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Thomas throws a jab but it's blocked by Gunn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hay shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hay showed some decent athleticism there.
Hay seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Taylor tries to get to full guard but Hay has control of the leg.

Hay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Taylor defends it well.

Maia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jason Willams was going to win. Let's see if he was right.
