 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baresic lands a head kick!
 It looks like Laiska Leppone has been cut. Leppone wants to clinch. Leppone fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A nice combination there by Baresic.

Leppone moves into the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Leppone keeps control of Baresic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Baresic's face as he tries to break the clinch.

 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Leppone throws a series of strikes that have Baresic backpedaling.
Baresic stalks Leppone and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Leppone's face. Leppone staggers backwards, shaken. He's got his arms around Baresic's waist but Baresic gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Leppone off to one side.  That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Krantz controls the pace. Krantz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ground and pound from Krantz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Krantz in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson is looking to reverse the position.  Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krantz paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hood circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hood's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Szyszka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. The Nanny was covering up waiting for the punch and Szyszka finishes the takedown easily into guard. Szyszka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. The Nanny swivels though and keeps the full guard. Szyszka should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The Nanny seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
