And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galazin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Godlewski avoids it really well and circles away.

Galazin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Galazin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Galazin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Galazin tries to close the distance and clinch but Godlewski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Galazin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Galazin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Galazin dives in and grabs Godlewski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Godlewski pushes down on Galazin's head and hops out.

Godlewski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lorusso shoots in looking for a takedown. Maignon tries to sprawl out of it but Lorusso keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maignon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Maignon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Maignon politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Maignon prefers to stall for the moment though.
Lorusso is looking for a sweep.
Maignon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maignon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lorusso remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
