2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clayton Haller! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haller just misses with a punch to the body.
Masiina fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Haller is out of range. Masiina circles away from the clinch attempt.
Haller lands a two punch combo.
Haller takes a swing at Masiina's ribcage but misses. A combination from Masiina does no damage. Haller tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Masiina uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Haller.
Haller goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Haller moves in looking to clinch but Masiina pushes him off. Masiina falls off balance throwing a combination
and Haller counters with a slapping leg kick. Haller cracks Masiina with a right hand to the side of the head. Masiina lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Haller circles away quickly and effectively. Masiina ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Masiina fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Haller scores with a shot to the body.
Haller lands a with a good body shot. Haller lands the left hand. Masiina showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Haller.
A bone on bone clash there as Haller blocks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Haller. Haller throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Masiina. Nice uppercut there from Haller. Masiina tries to move into range but Haller moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Clayton Haller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Masiina moves in looking to clinch but Haller pushes him off. Clayton Haller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Haller scores with a jab. Masiina acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A solid leg kick lands there for Haller.
Masiina on the wrong end of a nice hook. Haller wants to clinch. Haller connects with a single shot there. Haller fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Masiina on the side of the head. Haller scores with a crisp jab that stopped Masiina in his tracks. Masiina throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Haller throws a series of strikes that have Masiina backpedaling.
Haller lands a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Haller throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Masiina on the side of the head. Masiina throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Haller counters with a lovely shot to the body. Haller gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A body shot lands from Haller.
Masiina drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Haller gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Masiina has had enough of the clinch but Haller keeps him there for the moment. Masiina pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Haller throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Masiina on the side of the head. Masiina tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Haller connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Masiina momentarily.
Masiina turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Haller instigates a clinch. Haller breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Masiina throws a right and a left that both miss. Haller works the jab nicely. Haller ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Masiina is breathing heavily. Masiina walks into a stiff left hand from Haller. Masiina fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Haller is out of range. Haller throws a right and a left that both miss. Haller scores with a hook. Haller clinches up with Masiina and pushes him back against the cage. Haller is looking to break free of the clinch but Masiina has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Masiina's face as he tries to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haller breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Haller works the jab nicely. Masiina takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Masiina looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Masiina tries to keep at a distance but Haller has taken the fight into the clinch. Masiina lands an uppercut. Haller wants to get back to striking at distance but Masiina won't allow it.
Haller prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maik Masiina. That's going to take a lot out of him. Masiina has had enough of the clinch but Haller keeps him there for the moment. Haller working hard to break the clinch. Haller lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Haller has had enough of the clinch but Masiina keeps him there for the moment. Masiina tries to score a body lock takedown but Haller shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Masiina just leaning against Haller, taking a breather. Haller manages to break the clinch.

Haller catches Masiina with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Masiina with a lazy takedown attempt letting Haller counter with a right hand. Masiina ducks right into an uppercut from Haller. Masiina swats away the attempt to clinch by Haller. Masiina throws a lazy right hand but Haller sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Haller cracks Masiina with an open hand slap.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haller ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Haller catches Masiina with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Masiina takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Haller moves into range and connects with a jab. A right-left combo lands from Haller. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Haller lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Haller thuds a left hand into Masiina's body. Masiina throws a leg kick and Haller counters with a right hand to the body. Haller feints and then cracks Masiina's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Masiina down. Haller connects with a single shot there. Haller lands a jab to Masiina's midsection. Masiina walks into a stiff left hand from Haller. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Masiina gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A right-left combo lands from Haller. Haller gets off balance looking for a body kick letting Masiina counter with a right hand. Haller lands a left and a right that send Masiina crashing to the mat, dazed. Haller thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clayton Haller dominated that round. That's time! Masiina's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Haller drops Masiina with a naaaaasty hook - Masiina is in real trouble here! Haller dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelsson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bensing closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bensing lands in his opponent's guard. Bensing passes Nelsson's left leg - he's now in half guard. Bensing wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nelsson keeps working. Nelsson has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Bensing. Oh but Nelsson has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Bensing goes limp - he's gone! Nelsson jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Master moves in looking to clinch but Latte pushes him off. Latte drives through with a takedown into guard. Latte passes Master's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Latte looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Latte stalling. Latte works his way into full mount! Latte is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Master has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Master! Latte will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Latte working a defensive guard here.
Master wants to pass the guard but Latte is keeping the position. Latte looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Latte tries to land a sweep but no joy. Master trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Latte has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Master can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Latte has his foot on Master's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Master works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Latte looking for subs off his back but Master has passed one foot through into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Latte is looking to control Master's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Latte avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Master wants to pass the guard but Latte is defending well. Latte is trying to control but can't.
Master passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Master is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Latte has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Latte! Latte drops back looking for a leg! Master is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Master manages to kick Latte off! Latte jumps back into Master's guard. Latte avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Latte pushes down on Master's leg and manages to get into half guard. Master is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Latte pulls his head out easily. Master looks gassed! Latte wants to control but Master is keeping him busy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mocha Latte dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Latte is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Master is trying to get back to full guard. Latte is trying to work for a kimura but Master is defending well.
Latte is trying to control. Master wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Latte is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Master has managed to free his arm - good work. Master actively working from the bottom here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Latte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Master keeps working.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Master slips a jab from Latte. Latte misses with a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Latte fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Master manages to avoid it. Latte scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Latte misses the shot to the body. Master shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Master was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Latte tries to get back to half guard but can't. Master is going olschool here, as he tries to force Latte to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Latte shrugs it off. Latte regains half guard. Latte is pressing down on Master's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Master is breathing heavily. Latte has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Master is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Latte. Master tries to move to mount but Latte blocks the move with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Latte can't do much from the bottom here. Master wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Latte, who protects the arm well. Latte is looking for a sweep. Latte is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Master's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ollila pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Aarseth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ollila avoids it really well and circles away. Aarseth slips under a jab from Ollila. Some bone on bone action there as Aarseth checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Ollila tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Aarseth is able to avoid easily. Aarseth tries for a takedown but Ollila sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Aarseth lands a jab-cross combination. Aarseth shoots for a takedown but Ollila saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ville Ollila has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oystein Aarseth. Ollila tries to close the distance and clinch but Aarseth swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice sprawl there from Ollila as Aarseth shoots in. Ollila throws a leg kick but Aarseth moved away. A right-left combo lands from Aarseth. Ollila moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Both fighters circling a little - Ollila finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Aarseth takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Aarseth avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Ollila fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aarseth manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aarseth looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ollila is fending him off so far but Aarseth persists. Nope, Ollila circles away and we're back to standing. Aarseth looks gassed! Aarseth shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ollila as he avoids it easily. Ollila lands with a kick to the temple. Aarseth shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Oystein Aarseth has been cut. Aarseth fails with a takedown attempt. Ollila throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Aarseth crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machiavelli keeps the fight on the outside. Du is looking to clinch but Machiavelli is avoiding it.
Du looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Good standup being displayed there by Machiavelli as he connects with a hook. Machiavelli looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Machiavelli lands a couple of elbows. Du bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Machiavelli's guard. Du trying to control the position from guard on top but Machiavelli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Duis looking to pass into half guard but Machiavelli pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Machiavelli is in guard. Du is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Machiavelli wants to control from the top but Du keeps moving. Machiavelli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Du swivels though and keeps the full guard. Machiavelli controlling from the top position. Du is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Du wants to clinch. Du lands a nice looking body kick. Machiavelli throws a nice looking combination but Du bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Du swings for the body but Machiavelli moves out of range.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Du's guard. Du avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Machiavelli. Machiavelli with the ground and pound but Du uses the opportunity to regain guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Du holds on and takes a little breather. Du keeping moving, preventing Machiavelli from controlling successfully.
