Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Chapman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fredo Parish! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Chapman or perhaps it was just good defense by Parish which made him look bad. Parish throws a hook but Chapman blocks it. Chapman ducks straight into an uppercut from Parish and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Chapman manages to regain guard straight away.
It looks like Mark Chapman has been cut. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Parish passes Chapman's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Parish lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Parish is nestled in close to Chapman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Chapman is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Parish scores with a big shot! Chapman's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Chapman! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Surfer walks into a stiff left hand from Carter. No joy there for Surfer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Surfer defends it nicely. Carter checks the leg kick. Surfer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Carter moves into the clinch successfully.
Carter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Surfer gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Carter tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter unloads a knee to the mid-section. Surfer lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Surfer stops a takedown attempt from Carter.
Surfer wants to get back to striking at distance but Carter won't allow it.

Carter prevents Surfer from breaking the clinch. Carter is trying to trip Surfer. He has hold of a leg but Surfer is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Carter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Surfer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Carter, into his guard. Surfer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Surfer tries to stand but Carter is controlling from the bottom. Carter had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Surfer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Carter Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Surfer's back instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Can Surfer hold on?! Carter is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
You can see the frustration on Surfer's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Surfer tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Surfer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Surfer displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Surfer misses with a few strikes there.

That was a close round but I would say that John Carter will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Surfer throws out a powerful jab. Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Surfer's guard. Carter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Surfer's head. Carter scoring with punches to the head and body. Surfer is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Carter is controlling him well.

Camel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Camel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wright counters with a takedown into side control. Wright is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Camel looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wright gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gray avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gray looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Castle is looking to control Gray's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Castle avoid being mounted? Gray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Castle keeps working. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castle wants to improve his position but Gray is controlling well.

Gray is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gray trying to control the position from guard on top but Castle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gray shoots for a double leg takedown but Castle sprawls well. He's pushed Gray's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Castle throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gray feints and as Castle raises his hands in defense, Gray changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Castle is trying to control the position but Gray postures up. Castle pulls Gray in close to prevent any damage. Gray wants to pass the guard but Castle is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Castle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Castle is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gray looking to sit in guard and control but Castle gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gray is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Frank Castle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gray slips a nice elbow through Castle's hands, connecting with Castle's forehead. Gray thows a huge punch but Castle dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castle is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gray's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gray's back! Castle biding his time, looking for the opening.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Castle controlling the position well here. Gray rolled but Castle kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castiglione on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Damico wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Damico throws a shot from downtown. Castiglione moves away and avoids it. Jab, jab by Damico - just one landing. Castiglione tries to close the distance and clinch but Damico swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Damico is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Castiglione. Castiglione keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No joy there for Damico, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Damico throws a good cross that connects.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Castiglione misses with a double jab
and Damico connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Castiglione is rocked! Lou Damico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Damico throws a hook to the side of Castiglione's head but Castiglione sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Damico throws a big shot that misses. Castiglione uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Damico.

Castiglione takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Oh Castiglione is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Damico looks to throw the jab but Castiglione is out of range. Damico misses with a hook. Castiglione ducked under it nicely. Castiglione seems to have got his legs back now. Damico fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Grant goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Grant moves away from the strike by Zorro. Grant avoids a punch combination nicely.

Grant throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Grant throws a right and a left that Zorro avoids nicely. Grant jabs at Zorro's body. Grant throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Zorro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grant moves away. Zorro falls off balance throwing a combination
and Grant counters with a three punch combo that has Zorro backing up. Zorro nods at Grant to acknowledge the strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zorro throws a left and a right that both miss
and Grant counters with a left and a right... And another left! Zorro is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Urso tries to clinch but ONeil is having none of it. Urso shoots in looking for a takedown. ONeil tries to sprawl out of it but Urso keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. ONeil manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. ONeil lands a nice hook to Urso's body. Urso takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Urso lands a head kick!
It looks like Mickey ONeil has been cut. ONeil throws a low kick but Urso avoids it. ONeil throws a body punch but Urso moves out of range. ONeil lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Urso at a distance.

ONeil lands a left and a right that send Urso crashing to the mat, dazed. ONeil thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Urso is rocked! Urso is breathing heavily. ONeil sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Urso's defenses. It connects perfectly with Urso's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
