Scott Summers had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Slick tries to land a leg kick but Mason saw it coming and moves away.

Slick drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mason looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mason looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mason!

Mason is looking to stand but Mason has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Slick is in all sorts of trouble here.
Slick bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Slick is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mason is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mason has escaped and now he's on top!
Slick wants to sweep but no luck.

Slick working for a triangle but Mason defends it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mason trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Slick looking for a guillotine here but Mason defends easily.
Mason slips nicely into half guard.

Mason wants to work for an arm triangle but Slick is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Slick slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Slick is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Slick had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mason is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Slick Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mason's back instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slick is hanging on to Mason's back as he tries to escape.
Slick throws strikes from the back but Mason rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Mason.
Slick working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Slick throws a strike but Mason rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mason drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Slick dives on top into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Oil Slick.
I think Slick has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
