The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jon Bon Kim takes the fight into the clinch. Cobrason has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Cobrason misses with an elbow strike.

Cobrason tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Gomez! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Casey shoots in looking for a takedown. Gomez tries to sprawl out of it but Casey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gomez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gomez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Matt Casey has been cut. Casey gets caught flat footed, as Gomez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Casey is breathing heavily. Gomez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gomez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gomez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A shot to de liver by Gomez. Beautiful body shot. Gomez steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Casey is out on his feet! Gomez sets himself and nearly takes Casey's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bagwell looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. A head kick lands from Black that sends Bagwell to the canvas. Bagwell tries to scramble back to his feet but Black brings him back down into side control. Black decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bagwell throws a head kick but Black moves out of range.
Bagwell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Black throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bagwell on the side of the head.
Bagwell is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Black defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bagwell. A head kick by Bagwell misses and Black counters with a good low kick that Bagwell was not able to check. Black rushes Bagwell and presses him up against the cage. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Black obliges. Bagwell looks gassed! A right handed body shot lands from Black.

Black lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bagwell or not. Bagwell should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Black lands an elbow inside that Bagwell shrugs off. The is referee keeping an eye on Black - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Black digs a right hand into Bagwell's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bagwell's gas tank. Black stalling.

Black stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Black effectively controlling the action here. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Drestin Black. Black fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bagwell sprawls well initially but Black persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Black is taking a breather. Bagwell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Bagwell pushes Black off but Black dives into side control.
Bagwell wants to get back to his feet but Black is dominant here and he's now got Bagwell's back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bagwell tries to break free.
Bagwell trying to control the hands but Black won't let him. Black controls the position. Black will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Black seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bagwell for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Drestin Black dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Black taking a breather. Black creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Bagwell's defenses. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Black. Black lands a left hand.

Bagwell can't keep his opponent in guard - Black advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bagwell looking for submissions off his back. Black content to control rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Black scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bagwell in his tracks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bagwell thows a leg kick but Black checks it and Black holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Black lands a body shot. Black lands a knee to the body.
Black unloads a knee to the mid-section. Bagwell lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. A hook to the body from Black.
Black effectively controlling the action here. Black lands a nice shot to the body. Bagwell trying to control the position but instead, Black has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bagwell into the cage. Black has Bagwell pressed against the cage.
Black gets control of Bagwell's arms and successfully pulls guard. Black will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Black seems keen to control Bagwell's posture. Bagwell wants to get up but he can't break Black's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Black shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bagwell napping and manages to drive through into side control! Black decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bagwell scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Black moves into range and clinches up with Bagwell. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Black avoiding damage.

A slow jab from Black misses its intended target. Bagwell scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bagwell catches Black with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Bagwell tries a head kick but it misses.

James Bagwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good work by Bagwell as he checks the leg kick. Bagwell falls off balance throwing a combination
and Black counters with a nice low kick that buckles Bagwell's knee momentarily.

Black shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Black controlling his opponent. James Bagwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! You get the feeling that Bagwell really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Santos with a knee to the head.
It looks like Henry Downey has been cut. Santos goes for a takedown in the clinch but Downey prevents it.
Santos lands a hook that snaps the head of Downey backwards. Santos lands a nice knee to the body. Santos jumps into guard, dragging Downey to the mat.
Santos has his foot on Downey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Downey works his way back into a safe position though. Downey postures up.
Santos wants to sweep here but Downey controlling him for the moment. Santos has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Downey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Santos. Downey is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Santos will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Santos trying to control but Downey flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Downey lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Santos is trying to shake Downey off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Downey won't be happy about giving up the dominant position. Santos tries to clinch up. Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Downey paws at him with a jab and circles away. Santos closes the distance and clinches up with Downey, looking for a takedown. Santos pushes Downey against the cage but Downey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Santos is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Santos lands with an overhand left. Santos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Downey tries to avoid it but Santos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Downey to the ground. Downey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maro Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown by Santos or perhaps it was just good defense by Downey which made him look bad.

Downey defends it nicely. Santos shoots in for a takedown but Downey shows good takedown defense. Santos is breathing heavily. Santos wants to clinch. Santos lands with a kick to the temple. Downey shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stull shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Stull showed some decent athleticism there. Stull thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Benavidez's head. Stull is trying to work for a kimura but Benavidez is defending well.

Benavidez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stull has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! Nice straight punches there by Taalasmaa. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Taalasmaa. Oren lands with a slapping head kick. Taalasmaa looks to land a right hand but Oren moved out of range. Taalasmaa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oren pinned against the cage. Oren gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Oren. Taalasmaa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Taalasmaa wants to take a breather but Oren is having none of it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Taalasmaa is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Taalasmaa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Oren with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
