Excellent takedown into side control there by Souza. You can see the frustration on Belfort's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Souza tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Souza is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Belfort has escaped the position, nice work there. Belfort tries to bench press Souza off him but Souza keeps the position. Belfort pushes Souza away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Souza gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Souza staying calm.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Senior wants to clinch up but Davis keeps it at a distance. Senior will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Senior doesn't manage to clinch there - Davis circles away.
Davis swats away the attempt to clinch by Senior. An inside leg kick lands from Senior. Senior looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Davis! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Davis working to try and regain half guard.
Senior with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Davis regains full guard. Nicely done. Davis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Oh, it looks like he might have it! Senior has picked Davis up and slammed him! Davis can't keep hold of the triangle and Senior manages to pass to side control! Davis looks gassed! Senior is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davis has escaped the position, nice work there. Senior throws an elbow but Davis slips to the side and avoids it well. Davis tries to improve position but can't. Davis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Senior thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head. Senior tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Davis. Davis looking for submissions off his back. Davis wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Senior trying to control but he's not successful this time. Davis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Senior with good strikes from the mount here! That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Senior has hold of Davis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Davis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Davis regains half guard. Senior thows a huge punch but Davis dodges it nicely.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Davis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Davis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Senior, up you get! Davis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Senior's half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Senior is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Senior wants to sweep but no luck. Senior wants to stand and escape but Davis is having none of it. Davis passes Senior's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Davis is stalling here. Senior is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Davis seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Senior has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Senior tries to score with some ground and pound. Davis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Senior gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Davis is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Teixeira will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Teixeira looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Motta wants to stand and escape but instead Teixeira has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Teixeira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Motta is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Motta has escaped and now he's on top!

It looks like Felipe Teixeira has been cut. Motta moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Motta lands a big right hand that sends Teixeira crashing to the mat! Motta stays standing though and waves Teixeira back to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Motta ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Teixeira's jaw. Teixeira's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Motta does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Rua shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bolado counters with a shoot takedown. Rua fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bolado stopping the sweep attempt from Rua. Rua has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bolado can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bolado won't allow Rua to get back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rua utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bolado has gone for a leg lock! Rua slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bolado's guard. Bolado looking to control.
Bolado had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Rua is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bolado Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Rua's back instead. Rua rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Bolado eventually gives up the hold. Rua makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rua. Rua is looking for a triangle but Bolado pushes his legs off easily.

Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rua! Rua is looking to take a break and control but Bolado is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rua is trying to maintain the position but Bolado is very close to passing his half guard. Rua regains full guard. Nicely done. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bolado has eaten all the pies! Rua is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rua will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rua is looking for a triangle but Bolado pushes his legs off easily.
