The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boomhauer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A left and a right from Boomhauer both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Frank Silva has been cut. No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva. Boomhauer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Boomhauer clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. This has been an exciting period of action! Boomhauer looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range. Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Boomhauer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Silva is trying desperately to land a takedown but Boomhauer is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Silva. The cut above Frank Silva's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Silva walks into a stiff left hand from Boomhauer. A nice leg kick lands there from Boomhauer. Boomhauer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively. Boomhauer lands a body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Boomhauer stuns Silva with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Silva's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. A jab from Boomhauer does it's job there. Nice takedown defense from Boomhauer. No joy for Silva on that attempt. Silva checks a low kick from Boomhauer. Boomhauer looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.

That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Silva takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Frank Silva's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Boomhauer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boomhauer pinned against the cage. Boomhauer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nice takedown defense from Boomhauer. No joy for Silva on that attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Silva might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Boomhauer has got the better of the exchanges. Boomhauer throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely. Boomhauer feints and then cracks Silva's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Silva down. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Boomhauer can pounce on him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brill fails in his attempt to clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Iversen is defended easily by Brill. Brill lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Brill as Iversen shoots in. Brill moves in looking to clinch but Iversen pushes him off.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Iversen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brill's guard. Brill is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Iversen dives into side control.
Iversen is trying to get an arm triangle but Brill is defending well. Iversen trying to control the action but Brill is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Morten Iversen will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Iversen has his takedown stuffed and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Brill throws a quick inside leg kick. Iversen shoots for a double leg takedown but Brill sprawls well. He's pushed Iversen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Morten Iversen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Brill looking to control and managing it successfully. Iversen can't escape the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - McBruce throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Smith defending well as McBruce loads up on a big left hand. Smith misses with a body kick. Lance McBruce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. McBruce takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses. McBruce throws a hook to the side of Smith's head but Smith sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. McBruce gets caught flat footed, as Smith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. McBruce looking to sweep here. No luck so far. McBruce throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves gets in close and instigates a clinch. Alves drags the fight down to the ground.
Austin throws and elbow that misses. Alves uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Austin's guard. Nice move by Alves! Alves distracts Austin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alves accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Alves wants to pass the guard but Austin is keeping the position. Austin has momentary wrist control but Alves slips an elbow through the middle. Austin wants to sweep but no luck. Alves looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves drops back for a leg! Alves has control of Austin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Austin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Austin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Alves is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Austin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redman misses with a hook. Yeets ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Stuart Redman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yeets uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Redman.

A combination from Redman does no damage. Yeets throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Yeets throws a lazy right hand but Redman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Redman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yeets swats him away and circles back towards the center. Redman tries to clinch up but Yeets circles away and keeps his distance. Redman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yeets manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Redman throws a right and a left that Yeets avoids nicely. Yeets throws a nice outside leg kick. Yeets moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Yeets moves out of range as Redman strikes. No joy there for Redman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stuart Redman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Yeets tries to close the distance and clinch but Redman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. No luck for Yeets with that takedown attempt. Redman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Yeets throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Yeets shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Yeets controlling from the full mount. Yeets cracks Redman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
It looks like Stuart Redman has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yeets working the ground and pound effectively.
Yeets unloads with some shots from mount but Redman bucks and avoids them well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Porter misses with a wild body shot. Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Porter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Porter stuffs the takedown. Gracie is looking to clinch. Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Porter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat. Chris Porter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Porter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gracie was covering up waiting for the punch and Porter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Porter is stalling in the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Porter is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gracie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Porter's back instead. Porter trying to control the hands but Gracie won't let him. Gracie doesn't have the hooks in and Porter manages to turn into his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy. Porter sitting in guard, not really doing much. Porter trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Porter defends well. Porter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Porter defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Porter controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gracie has an active guard here but Porter has managed to pass into half guard.
Porter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Porter eventually gives up the hold. Porter is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Porter is figuring out what he wants to do next. Porter trying to control from half guard but Gracie is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Porter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gracie wants to get back to full guard. Porter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Gracie wants to control but Porter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt and Porter counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Porter lands strikes from half guard. Gracie is defending against the submission attempts here by Porter.
Porter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Porter dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Porter is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Porter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
