Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gary McField (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wagner Nascimento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McField might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Foo Fighters - My Hero. Nascimento has chosen I N F E R N O as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nascimento displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McField.
Nascimento tests McField's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nascimento throws a big shot that misses.
McField pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nascimento leaves McField with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nascimento thuds his right hand into McField's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nascimento misses with an uppercut.
McField tries to clinch but Nascimento is having none of it.

Wagner Nascimento seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nascimento changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McField looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nascimento is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McField is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Nascimento tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nascimento has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Nascimento goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McField has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nascimento but great work by McField.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

McField stands up and beckons Nascimento to his feet.
Nascimento fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McField manages to avoid it.

Nascimento thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
McField manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nascimento tries to reverse the position but McField maintains control.
McField wants to control the pace but Nascimento is squirming around nicely.
A nice elbow there by McField.
Nascimento is looking to improve his position but McField isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Nascimento sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McField in particular looking to stall.
McField tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Nascimento.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nascimento rushes McField and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Nascimento drops down looking for an ankle pick but McField pulls his leg out and moves away.
McField with a poor takedown
and Nascimento connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A jab from Nascimento finds it's way through McField's defenses.
Nascimento uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McField has time to react.
McField takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

McField shoots for a takedown but Nascimento saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Nascimento throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McField was covering up waiting for the punch and Nascimento finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McField wants to sweep here but Nascimento controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McField is working hard here to advance position.

Nascimento is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McField preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Nascimento drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nascimento jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McField working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nascimento doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nascimento manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nascimento postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

McField is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nascimento defends well.

Nascimento drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Nascimento seems to have locked his on tight now - McField screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Nascimento, as he picks up the win!
