6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paolo Souza! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souza throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. West was covering up waiting for the punch and Souza finishes the takedown easily into guard. Souza postures up in West's guard and throws a big left but West blocks it. West has a closed guard, preventing Souza from standing up. Souza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Souza chips away with some ground and pound. Souza postures up.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A left and a right from Souza both land. Nice combination. West has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. West stopping the sweep attempt from Souza. Souza is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. West tries to stand but Souza is controlling from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Souza holds on and takes a little breather.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marks drives through with a takedown into guard. rodrigo keeping moving, preventing Marks from controlling successfully. rodrigo trying to keep a closed guard but Marks is proving a slippery customer.
rodrigo is looking to stand up but Marks isn't so interested in that idea. rodrigo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Marks stays in close to rodrigo's body and controls the position. Marks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. rodrigo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marks is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Marks stands and throws rodrigo's legs to the side, diving into side control. rodrigo tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marks tries for a kimura but rodrigo is defending well. Marks controlling the position. You can see the frustration on rodrigo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Marks has an Americana. rodrigo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Marks is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Marks hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rolinha dives in and grabs Griffin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes down on Rolinha's head and hops out. Rolinha shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffin pinned against the cage. Griffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Griffin doesn't manage to clinch there - Rolinha circles away.
Rolinha tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Griffin swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Rolinha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.

Not much technique there but it did the business. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big right followed by a crushing left from Griffin knocks Rolinha out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Santiago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Johnson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Polo moves forwards but Lee connects with a nice, crisp jab. Decent striking displayed by Lee there. Nice shot lands for Lee.
That has opened up Marco Polo's cut even more. Bobby Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee works the jab nicely. Lee misses with a straight left. Lee lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

The cut above Marco Polo's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Lee scores with a one two! Polo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Lee lands a right hook to the body.
Polo looks gassed! Lee moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Marco Polo's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Polo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Ante takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Davol will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
