1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kanbei Shimada! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimada misses with a takedown attempt - Esta sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Shimada scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Shimada creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Esta sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Shimada working the head with strikes. Shimada wants to lay and pray for a moment but Esta keeps working. Shimada sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Esta is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Esta on the wrong end of some ground and pound. An elbow from Shimada crashes against the mat.

Shimada creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Esta sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Esta avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shimada. Shimada tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Shimada tries for a kimura but Esta is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Esta is trying to get back to half guard. Shimada has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Shimada is staying tight to Esta's torso, preventing him from escaping. Esta pushes Shimada away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Shimada gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. You can see the frustration on Esta's face as Shimada controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shimada is looking to take a break and control but Esta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Esta trying to control but Shimada postures up.
Shimada throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Shimada is nestled in close to Esta, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Shimada passes to side control. Shimada is looking to take a break and control but Esta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Shimada has hold of Esta's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Esta tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Shimada cranks the arm and Esta screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Esta, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! kenshin fails with a takedown attempt. Gloves lands a left and a right that send kenshin crashing to the mat, dazed. Gloves thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like rorouni kenshin has been cut. Gloves lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but kenshin circles away quickly and effectively. kenshin gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! kenshin shoots for a takedown but Gloves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gloves leaves kenshin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. You get the feeling that Gloves really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. kenshin looking to control but Gloves is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. kenshin thowing shots but they're missing. That was a close second round but I would say that rorouni kenshin will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on rorouni kenshin's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Oh Nakatumura is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Por Pramuk connects with a stiff jab that staggers Nakatumura - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Cueto looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Cueto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ustorf prevents Cueto from getting back to his feet. Cueto controls Ustorf momentarily but Ustorf frees himself. Ustorf in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cueto manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Ustorf working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Ustorf postures up and lands a big shot to Cueto's brow. Cueto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ustorf.

Ustorf thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Ustorf trying to control but Cueto is working from the bottom. Cueto is breathing heavily. Ustorf drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cueto manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ustorf has Cueto in his guard. Cueto trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ustorf's guard. Ustorf not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Ustorf Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cueto's back instead. Cueto fending off the submission attempt from Ustorf. Cueto is trying to get back to his feet but Ustorf has full control of the position and if anything, Cueto has just worked his way into a worse spot. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ustorf gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Can Cueto hold on?! Ustorf is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Crunch! Cueto slams his shin into Ustorf's torso. Cueto closes the distance looking to clinch and Ustorf counters with a left and a right that stings Cueto. Sean Ustorf is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ustorf shoots for a double leg takedown but Cueto sprawls well. He's pushed Ustorf's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cesar Cueto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ustorf has managed to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cueto using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ustorf has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Sean Ustorf comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ustorf has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
