The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Noriega takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Noriega scores with a jab to the jaw. Pontes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Noriega sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pontes somewhat. Pontes misses with a takedown attempt - Noriega sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Noriega dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pontes fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Pontes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Noriega lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Pontes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Noriega but Noriega pushes him off and we're back to square one. Noriega misses with a straight right. Noriega is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pontes. Good exchange - Noriega coming out on top.

Noriega cracks Pontes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pontes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Noriega looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pontes tries for a kimura but Noriega is defending well. Noriega can't do much from the bottom here. Noriega is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pontes off and has taken his back! Noriega is trying to stick to Pontes's back but Pontes is turning into Noriega. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Noriega's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pontes. Noriega looking to control.

Pontes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pontes in particular looking to stall. Pontes is looking to take a break and control but Noriega is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Noriega tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pontes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pontes lands a decent elbow from side control. Pontes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Noriega keeps working. Pontes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Noriega takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Noriega tries to buck Pontes off but Pontes is having none of it. Noriega wants to control but Pontes postures up. Pontes tries for a kimura but Noriega is defending well. Pontes is looking to take a break and control but Noriega is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Anselmo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ivanov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Anselmo has Ivanov in his guard. He thinks about going to the ground but The Flash looks back up at him and smiles so Price waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Hippo throws a right hand that Perun ducks under and follows up with a left that Perun also avoids with ease. Hippo misses with a wild combination.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Perun moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hippo has Perun pressed against the cage, preventing Perun from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Perun is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Perun dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Perun keeps control of Hippo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A battle for position here, against the cage. Perun has Hippo pressed against the cage, preventing Hippo from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Stalling in the clinch from Perun.
Hippo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Perun tries to close the distance and clinch but Hippo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. King Hippo seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hippo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. No joy there for Hippo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Perun comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Perun walks into a left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Perun. Hippo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Perun circles away quickly and effectively. Hippo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A punch combination from Perun misses. Perun takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A nice combination there by Hippo.
Perun moves away from the strike by Hippo. Perun connects with a looping right hand.

and Perun counters with a three punch combo that has Hippo backing up. Hippo nods at Perun to acknowledge the strikes. Hippo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Perun slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Hippo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Perun has closed the distance and engaged Hippo in a clinch.
Perun can't break the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Hippo's face as he tries to break the clinch. Perun pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hippo clobbers Perun with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Perun has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Hippo throws an overhand right that lands on Perun's shoulder, as Perun tries to avoid the shot. Perun throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Perun closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Hippo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Perun counter with a right hand. Perun throws a series of strikes that have Hippo backpedaling.

and Perun connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Perun bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Perun throws a leg kick but Hippo moved away. A swing and a miss from Hippo. Hippo throws the left hand but Perun avoids the punch easily. Hippo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ashur Perun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A swing and a miss from Hippo. A big right from Hippo misses. Perun throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. The fighters circle momentarily. Perun darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Perun. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Hippo fails to land with a series of punches.
Hippo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hippo stalks Perun and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Perun's face. Perun staggers backwards, shaken. Hippo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Perun takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. King Hippo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hippo throws a combination. Perun tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ashur Perun. I think Hippo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! da Fonseca looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dynamite is fending him off so far but da Fonseca persists. Nope, Dynamite circles away and we're back to standing. da Fonseca shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dynamite pinned against the cage. Dynamite gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. da Fonseca shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dynamite manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. da Fonseca passes into half guard. Dynamite blocking the ground and pound attempt from da Fonseca. Dynamite is trying to stand back up but da Fonseca is controlling him
da Fonseca is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Dynamite still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Dynamite has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! da Fonseca tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nicely done! da Fonseca looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kip Dynamite has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamster misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Puncher.

Hamster tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Puncher throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hamster sees it coming and avoids it easily. Puncher misses with an uppercut. Hamster saw that one coming. Hard Puncher is winning the standup battle so far. Hamster looks to clinch and Puncher counters with a three punch combo that has Hamster backing up. Hamster nods at Puncher to acknowledge the strikes. Hamster throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Puncher will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Puncher keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hamster. Puncher takes a swing at Hamster's ribcage but misses. Puncher swings and misses with a shot to the body and Hamster counters with a lovely straight right hand! Puncher defending well as Hamster loads up on a big left hand. Hamster moves forwards but Puncher connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That has opened up Richard Hamster's cut even more. Hamster throws a jab when Puncher was well out of range. Hamster dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hamster misses with a looping right.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hamster looks to clinch and Puncher counters with a lovely shot to the body. Hamster misses with a straight left. Hamster swings and misses with a shot to the body and Puncher counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hamster thinking. Hamster takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Hamster is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hamster tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Puncher counters with a nice body shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Puncher lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
