2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sakura Machida! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machida looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice sprawl there from Valenzuela as Machida shoots in. Valenzuela misses with a low kick. Valenzuela throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Sakura Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A clash of legs there as Machida blocks the low kick. Donk. Valenzuela catches Machida right on the button with a cross.
It looks like Sakura Machida has been cut. Machida fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mateus Valenzuela has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sakura Machida. Valenzuela leaves Machida with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Valenzuela throws a front kick aimed at Machida's knee but Machida avoids it well. Machida throws a series of punches but Valenzuela moves out of range. Valenzuela throws a lazy right hand but Machida sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Machida tries to clinch there but Valenzuela circles away.
Valenzuela just misses with a punch to the body.
Valenzuela looks to throw the jab but Machida is out of range. Valenzuela pivots, looking for a leg kick but Machida is out of range and Valenzuela settles back down. Valenzuela lands the left hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Machida shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Valenzuela but Valenzuela pushes him off and we're back to square one. Machida staying out of range there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machida fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Valenzuela feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Machida crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Thai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bates fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thai avoids it really well and circles away. A head kick from Thai lands but Bates takes it in his stride.
It looks like Micheal Bates has been cut. Bates throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Bates moves out of range of the body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bates darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Thai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bates prevents Thai from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bates seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. I looks like Bates might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Thai tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Bates manages to move to mount!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Good control from Bates. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thai could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Thai throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bates's head. Thai misses with a kick to the body.

That's going to take a lot out of Micheal Bates. Thai throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Bates looks for a takedown but Thai sprawls well. Thai looks to land a body kick but Bates moved away. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Thai. Bates shrugs it off though. Thai connects with a solid leg kick. Thai misses with an attempted mid kick.

Bates has a takedown stuffed. Bates looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Thai! Bates controlling the pace for now. Thai on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Thai tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thai is trying to reverse the position but instead Bates has taken his back - oops! Bates is not going to allow Thai to sit and survive in this position. Bates is hanging on to Thai's back as he tries to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bates trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Thai doesn't escape. Thai tries to roll but Bates sticks to his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bates controlling the position well here. Thai rolled but Bates kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Pad Thai will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Micheal Bates's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Thai's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Thai controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Thai tries to escape but Bates has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Bates is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Thai is trying to stand back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! What can Thai do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
And that's the end of the fight! Micheal Bates comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bates has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buenotillo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Buenotillo on the wrong end of a nice jab.
It looks like Ron Buenotillo has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gentleman looks to land a right hand but Buenotillo moved out of range. Buenotillo checks the leg kick nicely there.
Gentleman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Buenotillo moves away. A slow jab from Gentleman misses its intended target. Gentleman misses with a looping left. Gentleman changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Buenotillo is breathing heavily. Gentleman lands a big right hand that sends Buenotillo crashing to the mat! Gentleman stays standing though and waves Buenotillo back to his feet!
Buenotillo is rocked! Buenotillo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gentleman shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Buenotillo takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Gentleman sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Buenotillo bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Too Hot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Reed looking to pass the guard. Reed is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Reed seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Too Hot for as long as he can get away with. Reed trying to control but Too Hot is working from the bottom. Too Hot wants to get back to his feet but Reed is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Reed is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Too Hot is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Too Hot misses with a wild combination.

Reed jumps guard but Too Hot stands there with Reed around his waist. Reed gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Too Hot working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Nice elbow from Too Hot. Too Hot has a couple of punches blocked by Reed.

Reed bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Too Hot's head backwards. Alonso Too Hot is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reed fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Too Hot sprawls well initially but Reed persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Too Hot looks gassed! Reed looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Reed tries to pass the half guard into mount. Too Hot knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Reed is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Reed is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Too Hot won't allow Reed to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reed is keen to just control but Too Hot is a slippery customer. Too Hot is looking to escape. Too Hot is staying active underneath Reed, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Reed prevents Too Hot from standing back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Reed rushes Too Hot and presses him up against the cage. Too Hot lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Reed stalling in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Reed tries a body shot but Too Hot blocks it.

A head punch on the inside from Too Hot fails to land. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Too Hot. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Reed takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Too Hot creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Too Hot misses with a short punch on the inside. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Reed. Too Hot misses with a hook from the clinch. Reed blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

and Too Hot cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A left lands for Reed. Reed throws a series of punches but Too Hot moves out of range. A combination from Too Hot does no damage. Too Hot seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Reed shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Too Hot is backing up but Reed catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Too Hot covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Reed Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Durham stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Singh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fukuyama swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fukuyama ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Singh moves away. Ali Singh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
