Silva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bill manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Bill tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva wants to control from the top but Bill keeps moving. Bill has control of Silva's left arm, preventing Silva from doing any damage. Silva is breathing heavily. Bill looking for a guillotine here but Silva defends easily.

Bill breaks from Silva's wrist control and lands an elbow. Bill wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. Silva has left one of his arms exposed and Bill doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Silva screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Reyes is looking to regain half guard here but Mallett keeps moving and retains side control. Mallett goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Reyes has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mallett but great work by Reyes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Reyes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mallett has escaped the position, nice work there. Mallett regains half guard. Reyes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Mallett misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lamb can do anything to dispel that myth. Lamb gets back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Lamb manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ham stays in close to Lamb's body and controls the position. Ham trying to control the position from guard on top but Lamb is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lamb working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ham doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ham manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ham accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
