The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schweidler scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks. Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Schweidler. Schweidler gets slowly back to his feet. Schweidler misses with an uppercut. Schweidler throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease. Schweidler scores with a hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schweidler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Schweidler throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.

Schweidler throws and elbow that misses. Jones uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Schweidler's guard. Nice move by Jones! Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schweidler works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Schweidler manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schweidler landing shots from mount. Schweidler landing punches. Schweidler unloading with bombs! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones taking shots to the head. Jones really wants to buck Schweidler off and get back to his feet. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jones avoids a series of strikes thrown by Schweidler.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Jones holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Schweidler tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Schweidler postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones avoids a series of strikes thrown by Schweidler.

Schweidler throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Jones tries to hold on but Schweidler pushes him away. Schweidler throwing strikes but Jones recovers to half guard. A much better position. Jones wants to get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Schweidler is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Schweidler might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jones kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schweidler throwing shots but Jones is blocking nicely. Rene Schweidler has got the better of the ground game so far. Schweidler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Schweidler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Schweidler trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Schweidler is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top! Jones slips nicely into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Schweidler's head. Schweidler wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.

Jones lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Schweidler on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hitzlspergher tries to clinch up. Free trade changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hitzlspergher looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Free trade tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Free trade has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Free trade thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Free trade could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Free trade swings around for an armbar but Hitzlspergher sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Free trade's guard. Free trade looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dikki looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mancinelli with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Dikki throwing shots but Mancinelli is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trine throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haye's waist but Haye gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trine off to one side. A clash of legs there as Trine blocks the low kick. The crowd cheers as Haye lands an impressive looking overhand right. Trine doesn't seem phased though. Haye throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Trine. David Haye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Haye throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Haye jabbing away but nothing is landing. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! de Souza closes the distance and clinches. Perelman pulls de Souza into guard.
de Souza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perelman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, de Souza has managed to get both his arms back between Perelman's legs - danger averted. Perelman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
de Souza cracks Perelman with a solid left hand. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! de Souza sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Perelman's guard. de Souza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Perelman flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Santi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jaakonpoika! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Santi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jaakonpoika has worked his arm free - good work by Jaakonpoika!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jaakonpoika defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Santi. Jaakonpoika is desperately trying to improve his position but Santi has a good base and remains in mount. Santi is working for a guillotine from mount but Jaakonpoika frees his head quite easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jaakonpoika is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jaakonpoika and Santi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Oliva is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Oliva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fuschini - the referee stops the clock and Oliva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fuschini. Oliva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Oliva avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
