The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeida stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lupus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Takeida.
Lupus looks to land a left hand but Takeida moved out of range nicely.
Lupus misses with an uppercut.
Lupus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lupus jabbing away but nothing is landing.

It looks like Timmy Lupus has been cut.

Takeida lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lupus circles away quickly and effectively.
Lupus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Takeida uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lupus.
Lupus throws a chopping leg kick but Takeida manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Takeida comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Lupus takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Takeida misses with a few strikes there.

Takeida throws a combination. Lupus tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Lupus is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takeida lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lupus at a distance.
Oh Lupus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lupus walks straight into a right hand from Takeida - that's dropped him! Takeida jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Lupus from any more punishment! Lupus complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ryu Takeida!
