The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rage keeps the fight on the outside. champ tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rage sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten champ somewhat. Rage scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. champ is trying to escape the position but Rage is controlling the position. Rage trying to control the action but champ is working from the bottom. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. champ tries to buck Rage off but Rage is having none of it. Rage lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Rage looks up at the clock and then as champ takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rage smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rage decides to stand up, so the ref orders champ to his feet. Rage cracks champ with a good jab. Rage shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rage was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! champ is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rage scoring with strikes but champ is staying in there. Rage tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rage has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Rage can't control as he wanted to and champ manages to get the fight back to his half guard. Rage works his foot free and advances to mount. champ really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Rage. champ is in a horrible position here. Rage smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rage lands a nice shot to the head. Rage cracks champ with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Rage wants to control the pace but champ is squirming around nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. champ throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Rage scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Flash Rage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rage is working for a submission of some sort.
Rage is looking to take a break and control but champ is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Still in half guard, Rage seems content to control. champ on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rage slows the pace down in half guard. champ is breathing heavily.

He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. champ doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rage counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rage trying to advance position but champ counters by regaining guard. champ looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rage bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rustow staying out of range there. Mortis looks to land a right hand but Rustow moved out of range. Mortis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rustow. That did some damage! Mortis tries to work over Rustow's front leg with a kick but Rustow checks it. Rustow fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mortis manages to avoid it. Mortis misses with a hook. Mortis blocks a jab. Mortis is looking to clinch but Rustow is avoiding it.
Mortis tries to clinch up but Rustow circles away and keeps his distance. Rustow lands a really nice looking cross but Mortis seems unphased.

It looks like Huston Rustow has been cut. Mortis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mortis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mortis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rustow throws a lazy right hand but Mortis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Rustow fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mortis throws a body punch but Rustow moves out of range. Rustow ducks under a wild hook from Mortis. Rustow blocks a head kick by Mortis.
Mortis throws a right and a left that both miss. Mortis throws a lazy right hand but Rustow sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Rustow thuds his right hand into Mortis's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Rustow throws a right hand that Mortis ducks under and follows up with a left that Mortis also avoids with ease. Rustow motions for Mortis to come forward. Rustow throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rustow drops Mortis with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Mortis looks back up at him and smiles so Rustow waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Mortis is rocked!
It looks like Kyle Mortis has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rustow misses with a hook. Rustow connects with a superb combination that knocks Mortis out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Rustow before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Mortis!

Javis has his foot on Toombs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Toombs works his way back into a safe position though. Javis pushes down on Toombs's head and hops out. Toombs closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Javis lands a with a good body shot. Decent striking displayed by Javis there. Toombs gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Javis stuns Toombs with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Javis lands a nice looking body shot.
Javis lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Toombs takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Javis scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Javis's corner calls for a 1-2. Javis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Javis scores with a one two! Toombs had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Javis punishes Toombs's body with a nice straight punch. Toombs on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Javis connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Toombs tumbling to the canvas! Javis pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Toombs was done - good stoppage!

No, Shmuck has managed to get both his arms back between Harvey's legs - danger averted. Shmuck connects with a couple of short punches. Shmuck missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Harvey controls Shmuck momentarily but Shmuck frees himself. Shmuck is sitting in close to Harvey's body. Harvey has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shmuck is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shmuck is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Harvey.
