Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Girts Rozentals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason Redman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rozentals sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Redman is trying to stall.
Redman tries to pull guard but Rozentals won't allow it.
Still in the clinch, Rozentals scores with a nice short uppercut.

Rozentals wants to get back to striking at distance but Redman won't allow it.
Redman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rozentals gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Litton paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Masaru changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Litton tries to avoid it but Masaru manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Litton to the ground. Litton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Litton lunges at Masaru with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Masaru's hand.
Masaru uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Litton.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Litton's corner calls for a 1-2. Litton obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Masaru shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Litton as he avoids it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Masaru misses with a looping right.
Litton jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Masaru throws a combination that misses
and Litton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Masaru closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Masaru lands in his opponent's guard.

Masaru is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Litton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Litton has escaped and now he's on top!

Litton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Masaru looking to hit a scissor sweep but Litton is one step ahead there.
Masaru is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Litton wants to control from the top but Masaru keeps moving.
Litton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Masaru swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Masaru looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Litton puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Litton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Masaru does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Litton tried to score with a low kick but Masaru checks it.

Masaru has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Litton finds it's way round the side to connect with Masaru's head.
Masaru displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Litton throws out the jab.

Litton lands a left and a right that send Masaru crashing to the mat, dazed. Litton thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Masaru is holding his hands too far apart here. Litton throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Masaru is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
