 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blackman throws a head kick that half lands.
 It looks like war machine has been cut. machine stuffs the takedown. Blackman shoots in for a double leg but machine sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Blackman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but machine swivels and escapes. war machine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bart Blackman.
machine takes the fight into the clinch. Blackman keeps control of machine as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Blackman tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Blackman throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

BJ Powers dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Powers feints and as Evans raises his hands in defense, Powers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Evans striking off his back but it's not causing Powers any problems. Powers stops Evans from standing up.
Powers has gone for a leg lock! Evans slips out almost immediately though and dives into Powers's guard. Evans throwing strikes but missing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Evans accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Evans got a little sloppy there for a moment and Powers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Evans has managed to get both his arms back between Powers's legs - danger averted. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Evans postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Powers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Evans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Evans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Powers is working an open guard so Evans takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Evans fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Evans! Powers sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

That was a close round but BJ Powers did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Powers has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Evans should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Powers has tightened it up now! Evans should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
