Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mr Deeds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinnosuke Nohara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nohara is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dame Dame no Uta. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Shinnosuke Nohara was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nohara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nohara is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nohara pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick misses from Deeds. Deeds blocks a head kick by Nohara.
Deeds keeps the fight on the outside. Deeds uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Deeds. Deeds avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nohara moves in looking to clinch but Deeds pushes him off. Nohara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Deeds tries to clinch but Nohara moves out of range. Deeds clinches with his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nohara blocks an elbow strike. Deeds takes an elbow to the forehead. Nice elbow from Nohara. Nohara gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Nohara unloads a knee to the mid-section. A battle for position here, against the cage. Nohara lands an elbow inside. Deeds jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nohara walks away with a smile on his face. Deeds gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nohara circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Deeds drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Nohara follows Deeds to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nogueira tries to clinch up but Mir circles away and keeps his distance. Nogueira tries to land a front kick but Mir steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nogueira is looking to clinch. Mir stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mir wants it to stay on the feet. Nogueira scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Nogueira is pressing down on Mir's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mir is holding on for now. Mir is looking for a sweep. Nogueira is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mir is working hard here to advance position. Nogueira looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mir is trying to get back to full guard. Nogueira wants to free his trapped foot but Mir is holding on for dear life with his legs. Nogueira wants to stand up but Mir has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Nogueira looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir misses with a takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mir is defended easily by Nogueira. Mir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nogueira tries to avoid it but Mir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nogueira to the ground. Nogueira escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nogueira doesn't manage to clinch there - Mir circles away.
Mir tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nogueira sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mir somewhat. Nogueira fails in his attempt to clinch. Now he's in top in Nogueira's guard. Mir stopping the sweep attempt from Nogueira. Nogueira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mir doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mir manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nogueira looks gassed! Nogueira looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mir controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mir is really struggling to control Nogueira but he's trying to hold on to the position. Nogueira wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nogueira shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mir pinned against the cage. Mir gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mir shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nogueira is trying to defend but Mir finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Nogueira bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mir is looking for a sweep. Nogueira has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mir! Mir is desperately trying to improve his position but Nogueira has a good base and remains in mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mir has given up his back.

Nogueira stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Mir shoots in for a takedown but Nogueira shows good takedown defense. Nogueira wants to stand and escape but Mir is having none of it.

Mir fails with the takedown and Nogueira counters with a nice leg kick. Nogueira with a lazy takedown attempt and Mir counters with a shoot takedown. Nogueira fights it but they end up in guard. Nogueira bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mir's guard. Nogueira gets to his feet. Mir looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Nogueira tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nogueira misses with a takedown attempt and Mir counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nogueira keeping moving, preventing Mir from controlling successfully. Nogueira tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nogueira is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Antonio Nogueira is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mir is on top in guard.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nogueira decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Mir swats away the attempt to clinch by Nogueira. Mir is trying hard to land a takedown here. Nogueira sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frank Mir. Well Nogueira has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Best preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Best wants to stand up but Santana is controlling him. Best kicks Santana off and gets to his feet. Santana tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Best swivels and escapes. Best tries to clinch there but Santana circles away.

Santana gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Best lands a shot to the body. Best is trying to drag Santana to the mat but Santana just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Best has Santana pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Santana manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Santana stalling in the clinch but Best improves position. Santana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stan Best will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jits throws a sloppy head kick and Ustorf moves out of range easily. Jits misses with a body kick. Sean Ustorf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jits closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jits working away. Ustorf tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ustorf taking punishment in the form of punches.
Jits lands an elbow. Jits controls the position. Jits is looking to take a break and control but Ustorf is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jits decides to stand back up. Ustorf closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Jits out cold! Jits corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crosly changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Goku tries to avoid it but Crosly manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Goku to the ground. Goku escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Goku lands a nice leg kick that just misses Crosly's sensitive parts. Crosly could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Crosly is breathing heavily. Good leg kick by Goku there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Goku throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Crosly is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Shimada changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. A lull in the action here as Shimada stalls from top position. Shimada tries for a kimura but Toshiro is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shimada lands a few punches from side control. Shimada is working Toshiro over with some ground and pound from side control. Toshiro is trying to improve his position. Shimada wants to control but Toshiro is keeping him busy. Shimada is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Toshiro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Toshiro is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Shimada tries to control but Toshiro wriggling away. Toshiro is desperately trying to improve his position but Shimada has a good base and remains in mount.

Toshiro is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Shimada looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Toshiro tries to hold on but Shimada pushes him away. Shimada is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Toshiro has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Toshiro! Toshiro is fighting to break Shimada's control of his arms but Shimada is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Shimada keeping moving, preventing Toshiro from controlling successfully. Shimada is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Toshiro escapes and throws Shimada's legs to the side, diving into side control! Toshiro trying to control the action but Shimada is working from the bottom. Shimada is trying to improve his position. Shimada can't do much from the bottom here. Toshiro lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Shimada down.

Shimada is trying to control the position but Toshiro postures up. Shimada is really struggling to control Toshiro but he's trying to hold on to the position. Toshiro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Shimada pushes a forearm under Toshiro's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Toshiro is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
