The bell rings for round one and we are underway! navarro dives in and grabs Burns's left leg, looking for a takedown. Burns pushes down on navarro's head and hops out. Burns shoots and misses and navarro counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Burns! navarro lands with some strikes. navarro looking to finish Burns with some ground and pound. This is bad for Burns! navarro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. navarro connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Burns is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Burns tries to lock up and control but navarro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. navarro tries to control but Burns wriggling away. navarro lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Burns takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Burns wants to control but navarro is having none of it. navarro is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Burns can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maximilian slaps away a takedown attempt from Stinson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Maximilian fails with the takedown and Stinson counters with a shoot takedown. Maximilian fights it but they end up in guard. Stinson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Maximilian is keeping the position for now. Maximilian keeping moving, preventing Stinson from controlling successfully. Maximilian keeping full guard, as Stinson tries to pass. Stinson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Maximilian working a defensive guard here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valasquez will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Valasquez scores with a takedown into Burns's guard. Valasquez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Burns manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Valasquez has Burns in his guard. Valasquez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burns gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Valasquez tries to strike from the bottom.
Burns takes a decent strike to the side of the head. Valasquez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burns defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valasquez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Valasquez wants to stand up but Burns is controlling him.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swicksizzle lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Frederman throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Swicksizzle connects with a crisp jab. Swicksizzle walks into a jab. Swicksizzle thuds a left hand into Frederman's body. Swicksizzle throws out a loose jab but Frederman uses good head movement to avoid it. Swicksizzle moves away from the strike by Frederman. Swicksizzle fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Swicksizzle lands a nice looking body shot.
