The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bartone's guard.
Bartone looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bartone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Christy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bartone wants to sweep here but Christy controlling him for the moment.
Christy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bartone had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Christy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bartone Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Christy's back instead.
Christy wants to get back to his feet.
Bartone is cranking Christy's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Christy! He's tightened the choke and Christy is tapping out!
