0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Slice! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Demon lands a left and a right that send Slice crashing to the mat, dazed. Demon thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like John Slice has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fight moves into the clinch position. Slice drops down looking for an ankle pick but Demon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Slice shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Demon as he avoids it easily. A left lands for Demon. Demon gets the takedown into side control. Slice is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Demon wants to control but Slice is keeping him busy. Slice struggling a bit here. Demon tries to stand but Slice is controlling his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slice is trying to control Demon's posture but Demon avoids it. Demon just content to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Demon wants to control for a moment but Slice uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Demon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Left hook, right uppercut from Demon. Demon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Slice's half guard. Slice looks gassed! Slice trying to hold on to Demon's head to control him but Demon postures up.
Demon wants to take a breather but Slice is having none of it. Demon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Slice is trying to maintain the position but Demon is very close to passing his half guard. Demon wants to pass to mount but Slice is defending the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Demon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slice keeps working. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Demon wants to free his trapped foot but Slice is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slice gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Demon wants to stand but Slice is controlling his posture from full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Slice is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slice trying to control the position from guard on top but Demon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Demon is trying to control the position from the bottom.

He's simply no match for Slice on the ground. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Demon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Slice misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Slice is pushing Demon up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Slice drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Demon jumps guard but Slice stands there with Demon around his waist. Demon gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slice ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Slice no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Slice is breathing heavily. Slice looking for a guillotine here but Demon defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slice is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Demon trying to control but Slice is working from the bottom. Demon stays in close to Slice's body and controls the position. Slice trying to keep a closed guard but Demon is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Demon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Demon moves into range and connects with a jab. Demon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Demon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Slice is holding on to half guard well. Slice trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Slice slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Demon wants to stand up but Slice has a hold of him and won't allow it. Demon prevents Slice from standing back up.
Slice moves into full guard.
Demon looking to sit in guard and control but Slice gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Slice stands up and waves to Demon to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Slice takes a swing at Demon's ribcage but misses. Demon lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Mark Demon is winning the standup battle so far. Slice misses with a takedown and Demon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Demon tests Slice's chin there with a solid looking shot. Slice drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Slice stands up and waves to Demon to follow him. Slice shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Demon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Demon will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on John Slice's cut. That's time! Demon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Slice gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Demon wants to stand and escape but instead Slice has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Demon keeping moving, preventing Slice from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Demon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Slice scoring with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slice slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Slice wants to control from the top but Demon keeps moving. Demon is trying to keep Slice in close.
Slice cracks Demon with a solid left hand. Demon is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Slice dives into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Demon is trying to control Slice's posture but Slice avoids it. Slice has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Demon tries to clinch but fails miserably and Slice counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Demon is lucky that one didn't land flush. Slice shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Demon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Slice won't be happy with that. Slice manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Demon is refusing to be controlled, as Slice sits in half guard. Demon trying to get back to full guard but Slice takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Slice avoids the attempt from Demon to control. Demon is desperately trying to improve his position but Slice has a good base and remains in mount. Slice connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Demon is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Demon wants to hold on but Slice pushes him away. Slice content just to control the position here. Demon takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Slice stands up from mount. Strange move. Demon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Demon lands in his opponent's guard. Slice is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Demon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Slice's half guard. Demon trying to pass the guard but Slice defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Demon stalling away here and it's allowed Slice to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Slice bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Demon's guard. Slice decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Demon, up you get! Demon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Slice trying to hold on to Demon's head to control him but Demon postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slice tries to get to full guard but Demon has control of the leg. Demon working over Slice with some ground and pound. Slice looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Slice wants to improve his position but Demon is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Demon is figuring out what he wants to do next. Mark Demon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Slice shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Demon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Slice won't be happy with that. Slice is not content to let Demon control the position. Slice struggling a bit here.

A close fourth round but John Slice will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on John Slice's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Slice gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Demon counters with a single leg into guard. Slice didn't expect that. Demon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Demon wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving. Demon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slice has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Demon has managed to get both his arms back between Slice's legs - danger averted. Slice trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Slice doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Demon wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving. Slice looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Demon passes into half guard.

Stevens can't do much from the bottom here. Stevens is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Stevens's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Stevens tries to improve position but can't. Base has hold of Stevens's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Stevens seems comfortable defending it but Base has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Stevens is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Stevens is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Base couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Hammit has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hammit decides to return to a standing position. McIntyre misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hammit saw that one coming. A combination from Hammit does no damage. McIntyre fails to land with a series of punches.
