The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brooks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Lingad throws a lazy right hand but Brooks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A low kick from Lingad is predictable there and Brooks counters with a good, hard body kick but Lingad shrugs it off. Lingad shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lingad was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Brooks can't escape the position.
Lingad looking to land elbow strikes but Brooks uses the position to regain half guard. Lingad missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Lingad controlling the pace. Lingad seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brooks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Brooks looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Brooks wants to control but Lingad is keeping busy.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.

It looks like Matt Silva has been cut. Khan scores with a one two! Silva had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Khan misses with a body shot.
Khan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Khan. Khan moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Silva steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Khan. Silva throws a right and a left that Khan avoids nicely. Khan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Khan throws a hook but Silva blocks it.

and Khan counters with a nice uppercut. Khan doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Khan is thwarting Silva's attempts to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khan seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt. Khan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khan works over Silva with some ground and pound from guard. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Khan content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Khan postures up in Silva's guard and throws a big left but Silva blocks it. Silva keeping moving, preventing Khan from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Silva is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Khan pushes down on Silva's leg and manages to get into half guard. Khan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Silva is looking to control Khan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted? Silva is trying to stand.
Silva is breathing heavily. Khan lands strikes from half guard. Khan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Silva's head. Nice strikes from Khan there. Khan is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Khan hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malone slaps away a takedown attempt from Portgas, before circling back to the center of the mat. Portgas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Malone. Portgas shoots in looking for a takedown. Malone tries to sprawl out of it but Portgas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Malone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Portgas drives through with a takedown into guard. Portgas wants to control from the top but Malone keeps moving. Portgas looking to sit in guard and control but Malone gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Portgas is working an open guard so Malone takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Portgas shoots for a takedown but Malone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ace Portgas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice shot by Malone. Portgas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Malone is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Malone has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Portgas is proving hard to escape from. Malone in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Portgas is on top in guard.

A nice leg kick lands there from Rivera. Halaus throws a leg kick but Rivera sees it coming and checks it nicely. Rivera throws a series of punches but Halaus moves out of range. Danga de danga de dang - Rivera scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Toivo Halaus has been cut. Halaus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A chopping leg kick lands by Rivera. A solid leg kick lands there for Rivera.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Halaus throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saurio uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Uberness.
Saurio goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Saurio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Saurio wants to clinch. A shot to de liver by Uberness. Beautiful body shot. Saurio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uberness swats him away and circles back towards the center. Uberness keeps the fight on the outside. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatu Tikki! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maek Houzo! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tikki swinging wilding here.
Houzo connects with a right hand. Tikki shakes it off. Tikki leaves Houzo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Houzo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tikki feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Houzo's calf. No luck for Houzo with that takedown attempt. Tatu Tikki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maek Houzo. Houzo fails with a takedown attempt. Houzo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tikki avoids it really well and circles away. A big left from Houzo misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tikki looks for the body kick but Houzo saw that one coming. Tikki will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
An inside leg kick lands from Tikki. Nice cross by Tikki. Tikki throws a quick inside leg kick. Houzo looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tikki lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Tikki clobbers Houzo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Houzo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Houzo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tikki.
Houzo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Tatu Tikki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tikki throws a jab when Houzo was well out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Houzo blocks a jab. A jab from Tikki does it's job there. Tikki cracks Houzo with a hook to the temple - Houzo is on wobbly legs here! Tikki swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Houzo falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Tikki wins by TKO!
