The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Almeida throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Almeida is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control. Almeida avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Almeida defends it. Almeida tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg. Gracie works his way into full mount! Almeida flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Gracie trying to control but he's not successful this time. Almeida defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gracie. Almeida is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Almeida is wriggling around trying to escape.
Almeida swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Gracie fails to take his opponent's back. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Almeida tries to hold on but Gracie pushes him away. Almeida swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Almeida is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action. Gracie blocks Almeida's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Gracie has hold of Almeida's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Almeida manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gracie working for a guillotine from mount but Almeida is in no mood to give up. Almeida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baskov fails with a takedown attempt. Pickens lands a big head kick that sends Baskov tumbling to the mat! Pickens takes a step backwards and waves Baskov back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Baskov is rocked!
It looks like Pter Baskov has been cut. No luck for Baskov with that takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Pickens. No joy for Baskov on that attempt. Britten Pickens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pter Baskov. Baskov fails to land the takedown. Baskov fails with a takedown attempt. Pickens keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pickens plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Baskov is still on wobbly legs! Can Pickens finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Baskov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Baskov seems to have recovered his senses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pickens tries to keep at a distance but Baskov has taken the fight into the clinch. Baskov wants a takedown.
Pickens is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Pickens manages to break the clinch.
Britten Pickens is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pickens tries a head kick but it misses.
Baskov tries to clinch but Pickens is having none of it. Pickens ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Baskov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pickens throws a head kick that misses. Pter Baskov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baskov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pickens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baskov shoots for a takedown but Pickens saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pickens lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Pickens lands a nice looking body kick. Baskov looks gassed! Baskov tries to clinch but Pickens moves out of range. Pickens throws a quick inside leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pickens! Baskov is out on his feet! Pickens rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Baskov is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Baskov is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belfort with a hook. Jarvinen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jarvinen wants it to stay on the feet. Jarvinen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jarvinen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jarvinen wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Belfort is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jarvinen working for a triangle but Belfort defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Belfort stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jarvinen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jarvinen is looking for a triangle but Belfort pushes his legs off easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fedor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fedor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Fedor looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jackson has picked Fedor up and slammed him! Fedor can't keep hold of the triangle and Jackson manages to pass to side control! Fedor gets back to half guard. Fedor is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jackson pulls his head out easily. Fedor actively working from the bottom here. Jackson passes the guard and advances to mount! Jackson looking to secure an arm triangle but Fedor defends it well. Fedor defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jackson. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jackson looking for a guillotine from mount but Fedor is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson has control of Fedor's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fedor regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Fedor tries to reverse the position but Jackson maintains control. Fedor has left one of his arms exposed and Jackson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Fedor screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Hell sprawls well initially but Bullit persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bullit wants to work for an arm triangle but Hell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bullit is pressing down on Hell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hell is holding on for now. Bullit is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hell is just riding it out for now. Bullit eventually gives up the hold. Bullit tries to pass to full mount but Hell defends it.

He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bullit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bullit working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

No, Hell has escaped the position, nice work there. Bullit is breathing heavily. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hell is looking to regain half guard here but Bullit keeps moving and retains side control. Bullit wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hell, who protects the arm well. Hell is not content to let Bullit control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bullit looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hell is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Bullit has just dragged him back down to the mat. Bullit is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. You can see the frustration on Hell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hell is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bullit's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Bullit seems to be looking for submissions.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bullit shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hell's guard. Hell looking to control.
Hell can't keep his opponent in guard - Bullit advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bullit moves nicely into side control. Bullit is trying to get an arm triangle but Hell is defending well. Charlie Bullit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bullit is chipping away with strikes.

Burn Hell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hell doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bullit counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bullit works his way into full mount! Hell really wants to buck Bullit off and get back to his feet. Bullit with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez scores a takedown into full mount! Silva holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Velasquez tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Velasquez won't let Silva get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Silva could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Velasquez throws some wild stikes that Silva manages to avoid easily.

Pirolla swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Pirolla lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Pirolla connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Nascimento throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Pirolla is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Pirolla misses with the combination.

Pirolla paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Pirolla lands an overhand right. Nascimento looks to throw the jab but Pirolla is out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nascimento moves in looking to clinch but Pirolla pushes him off. Pirolla fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Nascimento gets a clinch. Nascimento manages to break the clinch.

Pirolla uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nascimento. Nascimento is looking to clinch but Pirolla is avoiding it.
Nascimento shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pirolla pinned against the cage. Pirolla gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pirolla tries to bum rush Nascimento with a series of wild strikes but Nascimento uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nascimento on the wrong end of a nice hook. A combination from Pirolla does no damage. Nascimento closes the distance and pushes Pirolla back into the ropes. Nascimento gets control of Pirolla's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nascimento will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Nascimento has his feet on Pirolla's thighs here. He's pushed Pirolla off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Pirolla screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sullivan misses with the combination.
Sullivan dives in and grabs Joe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Joe pushes down on Sullivan's head and hops out. Sullivan shoots in and drives through. Joe sprawls well. Crunch! Joe slams his shin into Sullivan's torso. Sullivan is breathing heavily. Joe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sullivan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Joe. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sullivan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Sullivan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Joe swinging wilding here.

Joe lets loose with a powerful body kick. Sullivan will feel that in the morning. Joe lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sullivan's sensitive parts. Joe connects with a stiff jab that staggers Sullivan - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
