The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elam jabbing away but nothing is landing. Grant tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Grant blocks a head kick by Elam.
Grant closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Elam keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Grant is trying to control. Elam wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Elam is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Grant pulls his head out easily. Elam looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grant trying to mount his opponent but Elam defends it. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neil throws a combination. Marks tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Marks avoids the body shot from Neil.
Neil connects with a crisp jab. Marks fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Marks on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Neil. Neil obviously looking to wear him down.
Neil will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marks falls off balance throwing a combination
and Neil cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Neil scores with a jab to the body. Neil keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Marks closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Neil did well to prevent Marks getting side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Neil blocking the ground and pound attempt from Marks. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Neil can do anything to dispel that myth. Neil regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Marks.

Marks prevents Neil from getting back to his feet. Marks postures up in Neil's guard and throws a big left but Neil blocks it. Marks wants to pass the guard but Neil is keeping the position. Neil working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Marks. Marks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Marks wants to control from the top but Neil keeps moving. Marks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Neil clinches. Neil lands a damaging elbow. Neil lands a left hand that snaps the head of Marks backwards. Neil lands a right hand that snaps the head of Marks backwards. Neil working some nice short punches in the clinch. Neil working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Neil keeps control of Marks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Neil lands a shoulder strike. Neil is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Marks fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Neil avoids it really well and circles away.

He's got his arms around Hall's waist but Hall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Deloy off to one side. Deloy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hall did well to prevent Deloy getting side control. Hall is trying to maintain the position but Deloy is very close to passing his half guard. Deloy sitting and controlling from the half guard. Lowry feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lowry is posturing up here but Bush has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lowry tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lowry has to tap! Slick submission there by Bush!
