1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gary Mook! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mook throws a big shot that misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sheffield. Mook leaves Sheffield with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sheffield fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mook sprawls well initially but Sheffield persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mook is looking for a sweep. Sheffield is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mook is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sheffield tries to stand and escape but Mook is controlling the position. Sheffield is breathing heavily. Mook is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mook is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sheffield decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Mook scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Cletus Sheffield has been cut. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mook waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Sheffield. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Sheffield to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Sheffield is rocked! Mook pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sheffield is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mook wanted to stand there but Sheffield had control of the position. Sheffield throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Sheffield will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sheffield striking off his back but it's not causing Mook any problems.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mook wants to get up but he can't break Sheffield's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Mook slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mook should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Mook trying to control but Sheffield is working from the bottom. Sheffield throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mook connects with a crisp jab. Sheffield shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mook as he avoids it easily. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sheffield uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mook. Mook throws a push kick but Sheffield slaps the foot to one side. Sheffield shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mook pinned against the cage. Mook gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sheffield is defended easily by Mook. Sheffield takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Mook throws a series of strikes that have Sheffield backpedaling.
Nice straight punches there by Mook. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mook. Sheffield closes the distance and clinches. Sheffield wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Sheffield tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mook swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mook lands a glancing blow to the side of Sheffield's head. Mook misses with an uppercut. Sheffield saw that one coming. Mook rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sheffield moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mook misses with a straight right. Sheffield shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mook fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Mook is fending him off so far but Sheffield persists. Nope, Mook circles away and we're back to standing. Gary Mook seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice defenses there by Sheffield. Sheffield breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Danga de danga de dang - Mook scores with a four punch combination! Mook misses with a low kick.
Mook pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Horrible takedown by Sheffield or perhaps it was just good defense by Mook which made him look bad. Sheffield looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Sheffield drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Sheffield keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Sheffield counters with a head kick. Cletus Sheffield has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mook with a body punch. A glancing blow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Noonan jabbing away but nothing is landing. Noonan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
It looks like Mickey Noonan has been cut. Noonan leaves Jordan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Noonan connects with a nice looking jab.
Jordan slips under a jab from Noonan. Jordan gets a clinch. Jordan looking to slow down the pace here. Noonan is trying to drag Jordan to the mat but Jordan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Jordan blocks a punch to the side of the head.

It connects perfectly with Hudson's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barraclough rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Newson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Barraclough moves out of range as Newson strikes. Newson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barraclough's hands. Newson moves into range and connects with a jab. Newson lands the left hand. Newson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barraclough. Newson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barraclough's head backwards. Barraclough lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Newson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Barraclough throws a series of punches but Newson moves out of range. Newson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Newson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Newson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Barraclough tries to land a sweep but no joy. Newson working some strikes from top position. Newson trying to control the position from guard on top but Barraclough is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
