1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Waleed Malik! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malik lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Malik slaps away a takedown attempt from bell, before circling back to the center of the mat. Malik throws a right hand that bell ducks under and follows up with a left that bell also avoids with ease. Waleed Malik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. bell fails to land the takedown. Malik lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but bell circles away quickly and effectively. bell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Malik but Malik pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for king bell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Malik pushes bell up against the cage in a clinch. Malik tries to clinch but bell is having none of it. bell keeps the fight on the outside. Malik tries to close the distance and clinch but bell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. bell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. bell working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. bell is trying to get an arm triangle but Malik is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. bell stays in close to Malik's body and controls the position. bell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from bell. bell tries to keep at a distance but Malik has taken the fight into the clinch. bell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Malik is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for king bell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Malik scores a nice knee to the body.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. bell stands up from half guard. Malik tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Malik moves in looking to clinch but bell pushes him off. Malik takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Malik tries to close the distance and clinch but bell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. bell throws a wild body kick that Malik sees coming a mile off. bell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Malik sprawls well initially but bell persists and gets the takedown into half guard. bell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. bell stands up out of the half guard. Malik wants to clinch and bell counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by bell.
That's two minutes gone in the round. bell thows a big elbow that misses. king bell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. bell throwing strikes from guard but Malik blocks nicely. Malik wants to get back to his feet but bell is in a dominant position and won't allow it. bell drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Malik dives on top into guard.

Malik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. bell looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. bell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. bell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. bell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. bell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Davidson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. bryan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. bryan pulls Davidson in close to prevent any damage. Davidson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. bryan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that's the end of the fight! Rodney Gailfus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gailfus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! noel thows a left - swing and a miss! noel's corner calls for a 1-2. noel obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. noel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. noel trying to control the position but the mantis is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. the mantis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on noel's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are battling for position here. the mantis manages to regain full guard. Nice work. the mantis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. noel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. noel with a flurry of punches that miss. the mantis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. the mantis unloading with bombs! the mantis is going olschool here, as he tries to force noel to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so noel shrugs it off. the mantis scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish noel?
noel is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. the mantis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. noel has left one of his arms exposed and the mantis doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. noel screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Garcia's waist but Garcia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chin off to one side. Chin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Garcia avoids it really well and circles away. No luck for Chin with that takedown attempt. Marcelo Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willy Chin. Chin fails with a takedown attempt. Chin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Chin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Garcia manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Chin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garcia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Still in half guard, Garcia seems content to control.
