Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernard Butlins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Haigh! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Butlins. Haigh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Haigh. Butlins throws a hook but Haigh blocks it. Haigh shoots for a takedown but Butlins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bernard Butlins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Haigh. Haigh throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Butlins's waist but Butlins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Haigh off to one side. Butlins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Haigh. Haigh closes this distance looking for a takedown but Butlins circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Butlins doesn't manage to clinch there - Haigh circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Haigh shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Butlins defends it nicely. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Haigh. Butlins misses with a hook. Haigh ducked under it nicely. Haigh shoots in for a takedown but Butlins shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Haigh tries to close the distance and clinch but Butlins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Butlins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Haigh swats him away and circles back towards the center. Butlins thows a body shot but no joy. Butlins closes the distance looking to clinch and Haigh moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Butlins successfully pulls guard.
Haigh would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Butlins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Butlins is on top in guard.
Butlins seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Butlins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Butlins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Butlins trying to control but Haigh is working from the bottom. Haigh is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Butlins slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Haigh keeping moving, preventing Butlins from controlling successfully. Haigh is looking to sweep but instead, Butlins has passed into half guard.
Butlins sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Haigh defending well though. Haigh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Haigh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Butlins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Butlins is trying to control. Haigh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Butlins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Butlins uses his free foot to push down on Haigh's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Haigh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Butlins lands a big elbow. Butlins working the ground and pound effectively.
Butlins trying to control but Haigh is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haigh wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Butlins with the ground and pound from mount. Butlins lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Bernard Butlins dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Butlins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Haigh. A bone on bone clash there as Butlins blocks the leg kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Butlins blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Butlins stops a takedown attempt from Haigh.
A short right from Butlins. Butlins turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Butlins lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Haigh down.
Haigh is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Haigh can't do much from the bottom here. Butlins wants to control but Haigh is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butlins in side control lands a decent elbow. Haigh is not content to let Butlins control the position. Haigh is trying to control Butlins's posture but Butlins avoids it. Haigh is not content to let Butlins control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Butlins throws a leg kick but Haigh checks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Haigh avoids the body shot from Butlins.

Horrible takedown by Haigh or perhaps it was just good defense by Butlins which made him look bad. Haigh moves in looking to clinch but Butlins pushes him off. Butlins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Butlins works his way into side control. Haigh is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haigh is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haigh is not content to let Butlins control the position. Check out the look on Butlins's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Haigh is looking for a sweep. Butlins working the ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Haigh can do anything to dispel that myth. Butlins trying to control the position but Haigh is working away. Haigh is letting Butlins control him for a moment. Butlins is working Haigh over with some ground and pound from side control. Butlins is looking to control Haigh's arms but Haigh gets an underhook and turns him. Now Butlins has his back to the cage. Butlins jumps guard and drags Haigh to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Haigh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Butlins throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Butlins has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Haigh should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Butlins has tightened it up now! Haigh should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardmen defending well as Ferone loads up on a big left hand. Hardmen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ferone is trying to defend but Hardmen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hardmen is looking to take a break and control but Ferone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hardmen sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ferone defending well though. Hardmen is trying to control the action in half guard but Ferone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hardmen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ferone has managed to free his arm - good work. Ferone is refusing to be controlled, as Hardmen sits in half guard.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ferone's guard. Hardmen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ferone keeps working. Hardmen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ferone kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Hardmen is just content to waste time from the top position. Ferone takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Hardmen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hardmen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Ferone looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Hardmen trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ferone tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Hardmen misses the jab. Hardmen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ferone.
Ferone takes a shot right to the bread basket. Ferone connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A jab from Ferone finds it's way through Hardmen's defenses. Ferone misses with an uppercut. Hardmen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hardmen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hardmen slips a straight right by Ferone. Hardmen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ferone circles away. Ferone throws a body punch but Hardmen moves out of range. Hardmen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ferone did well to prevent Hardmen getting side control. Hardmen scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hardmen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ferone is just riding it out for now. Hardmen eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hardmen thows a huge punch but Ferone dodges it nicely.

Hardmen has his takedown stuffed and Ferone counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Paul Ferone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hardmen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ferone counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hardmen scores with a hook to the body. Ferone takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Ferone lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Ferone listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Ferone misses with a body shot.
Ferone is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Ferone with a jab. Hardmen instigates a clinch. Hardmen tries to pull guard but Ferone won't allow it.

Ferone leaves Hardmen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ferone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hardmen thows a body shot but no joy. Nice body punch from Hardmen. Hardmen looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Hardmen looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hardmen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hardmen stays in close to Ferone's body and controls the position. Ferone will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hardmen trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hardmen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ferone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ferone has escaped and now he's on top! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferone is squirming around, avoiding Hardmen's attempts to control the action. Hardmen throws a strike there. Ferone manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Hardmen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ferone is just riding it out for now. Hardmen eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ferone is trying is best to control the position here. Hardmen lands strikes from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferone won't allow Hardmen to pass to mount. Ferone is defending against the submission attempts here by Hardmen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brishnich throws a solid leg kick but Dyer takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brishnich. Brishnich rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dyer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dyer scores with a jab to the body. Dyer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Dyer lands a right hook to the body.
Brishnich fails to land with a series of punches.
Dyer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brishnich circles away quickly and effectively. Dyer throws a head kick that misses. Brishnich swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dyer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Brishnich avoids a kick to the body.

Brishnich throws a lazy head kick and Dyer counters with a flying knee. Nice. Muhammed Brishnich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dyer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brishnich. Brishnich tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dyer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Brishnich fails in his attempt to clinch. Brishnich is looking to clinch but Dyer is avoiding it.
Dyer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dyer misses with a head kick.
Dyer throws a head kick that misses. Brishnich misses with a body kick. Dyer blocks a low kick nicely. Brishnich shoots for a double leg takedown but Dyer sprawls well. He's pushed Brishnich's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Brishnich is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dyer. Brishnich uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dyer. Brishnich closes the distance looking to clinch and Dyer counters with a nice kick to the body. Dyer walks into a straight right hand from Brishnich. Brishnich misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice cross by Brishnich. Brishnich throws a sloppy head kick and Dyer moves out of range easily. Brishnich chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dyer can pounce on him.
Brishnich looks gassed! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dyer, as that shot connected.

Brishnich shoots in but no luck this time. Brishnich throws a series of strikes that have Dyer backpedaling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brishnich takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dyer feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Brishnich's calf. Brishnich tries to land a body kick and Dyer counters with a left and a right that stings Brishnich. Brishnich tries a head kick but it misses.
Dyer lands a jab-cross combination. Dyer throws a series of punches but Brishnich avoids them all with ease. Brishnich clinches up with Dyer and pushes him back against the cage. Brishnich pulls guard. Brishnich working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dyer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Brishnich is tightening it up a little... Dyer has to be careful here... The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hushovd displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Masood throws out the jab. Masood will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
