 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Hardy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Edgar tries to clinch but Hardy moves out of range. Edgar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hardy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hardy keeps the fight on the outside. Edgar tries to clinch but Hardy moves out of range.
Hardy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Edgar was covering up waiting for the punch and Hardy finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hardy content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Edgar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hardy is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hardy is looking to work some ground and pound but Edgar has wrist control. Hardy lands a couple of digs. Hardy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Edgar working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hardy. Edgar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hardy wants to control from the top but Edgar keeps moving. Hardy is sitting in close to Edgar's body. Edgar has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hardy is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hardy is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Edgar.

He's pushed Ueyama's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Joe misses with a takedown attempt and Ueyama counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Joe stuffs the takedown. Ueyama tries a head kick but it misses.
