The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roiz is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Roiz tries to clinch up. Saint shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Roiz defends it nicely. Roiz tries for a takedown but Saint circles away easily and Saint counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Roiz's guard now. Saint stands and throws Roiz's legs to the side, diving into side control. Roiz explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Roiz darts in trying to clinch and Saint counters with a takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Saint prevents Roiz from escaping the position. Roiz steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Saint. That one must have hurt. Roiz throws a series of punches but Saint moves out of range. Saint shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Roiz but Roiz pushes him off and we're back to square one. Roiz scores with a one two! Saint had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Roiz throws a right and a left that both miss. Roiz wants to clinch up but Saint keeps it at a distance. Roiz stuffs the takedown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Blanka is pushing down on Gracie's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gracie is fighting to maintain full guard but Blanka has managed to sneak the leg through. Gracie is defending against the submission attempts here by Blanka.
Blanka is looking for a kimura but Gracie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Blanka to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sparks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kurko. Kurko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sparks pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A nice leg kick lands there from Kurko. Kurko looks for the body kick but Sparks saw that one coming. Sparks throws a lazy right hand but Kurko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. No joy there for Sparks, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sparks takes one on the button. Sparks has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Sparks pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Some wild striking there from Sparks.
Kurko throws a leg kick which misses Sparks's front leg but catches the back leg as Sparks tries to avoid it. Nice uppercut lands for Kurko. That snapped Sparks's head back.
Kurko works over Sparks's head and body with a nice combination. Sparks throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kurko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kurko.

Sparks trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kurko's guard. Kurko wants to sweep here but Sparks controlling him for the moment. Kurko keeping moving, preventing Sparks from controlling successfully. Kurko tries to land a sweep but no joy.

He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Kurko lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sparks backs up against the cage.

Sparks throws a right and a left that both miss. Kurko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Kurko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sparks is looking to get to half guard. Sparks really wants to buck Kurko off and get back to his feet. Kurko unloads with some shots from mount but Sparks bucks and avoids them well.

Sparks throws a body kick, spinning off balance so Kurko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sparks has momentary wrist control but Kurko slips an elbow through the middle. Kurko landing with the ground and pound. Kurko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sparks works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sparks wants to hit a switch here but Kurko passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sparks there! Sparks is desperately trying to improve his position but Kurko has a good base and remains in mount. Sparks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kurko on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sparks sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Kurko trying to control the pace. Kurko wants to control but Sparks is keeping him busy. Kurko throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kurko stops Sparks from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kurko trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kurko lands a big shot there that rocks Sparks but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Durham goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Curry stuns Bo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Curry lands the left hand. This has been an exciting period of action! Curry misses with a hook. Bo ducked under it nicely. A jab from Curry misses. Bo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Curry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bo. Bo shoots for a takedown but Curry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Curry to score with a decent uppercut. Bo shoots in but Curry avoids the takedown attempt easily. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Garcia. That's going to slow Alves down. Garcia throws a sloppy head kick and Alves moves out of range easily. Garcia lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. A head kick from Garcia lands but Alves takes it in his stride. Garcia looks to land a left hand but Alves moved out of range nicely. Alves shoots in and drives through. Garcia sprawls well. Garcia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Alves shoots in but Garcia avoids the takedown attempt easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Alves. Garcia tries to escape but Alves is in control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Garcia prevents Alves from moving into mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia is pushing Alves's head away, looking to escape. Alves manages to hold on to the position though. Alves is trying to get an arm triangle but Garcia is defending well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Garcia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Leon Garcia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Garcia swats away the attempt to clinch by Alves. Joao Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alves fails with an attempt to clinch.
Garcia jabs at Alves's body. Garcia fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Garcia thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Alves if he has to take too many more of those.
Alves looks gassed! Garcia misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Crunch! Garcia slams his shin into Alves's torso. Garcia lands a head kick. Alves smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Garcia. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Alves crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Garcia - the referee stops the clock and Alves gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Garcia. Alves manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alves takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

It looks like Joao Alves has been cut. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alves is defended easily by Garcia. Leon Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joao Alves. Garcia throws a head kick that Alves semi-blocks.
Alves is rocked! Garcia lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Alves crumples to the floor! Garcia milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
