The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Austin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jo Jo Junior tries to clinch up. Austin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Austin missing with a left hand there. Jo Jo Junior was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Austin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jo Jo Junior shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Austin pinned against the cage. Austin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Austin with a body punch. A glancing blow. Austin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Austin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jo Jo Junior moves out of range as Austin strikes. Burns bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in North's guard. Burns looking to pass the guard. Burns has gone for a leg lock! North slips out almost immediately though and dives into Burns's guard. North thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Burns is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Burns tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. North looking to pass the guard. Burns pulls North in close to his closed guard and prevents North from doing any damage or advancing position. North trying to control the position from guard on top but Burns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Burns takes one to the chin there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Burns wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by North, who protects the arm well. North tries to bench press Burns off him but Burns keeps the position. Burns works to advance to full mount. North defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Burns swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and North is now in Burns's guard. A big mistake from Burns there, giving up the dominant position! North postures up in Burns's guard and throws a big left but Burns blocks it. North is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. North looks gassed! North trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burns has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think North should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Burns has tightened it up now! North should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
