The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donatti closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Chavez looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Donatti is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chavez defends it well. Donatti moves nicely into side control. Ramage shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santos as he jumps to the side. Santos lands with an overhand left. Santos lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ramage backs up against the cage.

He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Santos has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Santos controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Santos is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Ramage controlling the position well here. Santos rolled but Ramage kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Ramage is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Vo didn't expect that. Pow is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Pow trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pow works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pow takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Pow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pow trying to control but Vo is working from the bottom. Pow has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pow looking to sit in guard and control but Vo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooh a lovely combination from Soleil sends Heid down but not out. Soleil dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like AJ Heid has been cut. Heid is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Soleil is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Oh Heid is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Heid is working to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Heid shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard.
