The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dante looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Dante has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Dante moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mezar has worked his arm free - good work by Mezar!
Dante advances to mount. Dante is trying to take his opponent's back.
Mezar really wants to buck Dante off and get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mezar is looking to get to half guard. Dante fails to take his opponent's back. Dante looking to secure an arm triangle but Mezar defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mezar tries to hold on but Dante postures up. Dante moves to the back. Mezar is trying to break free.
Mezar is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Dante is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Mezar has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Dante really is a fat lump. Dante is breathing heavily. Mezar holding both Dante 's hands and preventing any damage. Dante looking for the choke from the back.

Mezar is trying to get back to his feet but Dante has full control of the position and if anything, Mezar has just worked his way into a worse spot. Dante has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Mezar is trying to defend against the choke here but Dante has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Dante Tightens the hold and Mezar taps out furiously! Dante displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlton misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Gracie throws a series of punches but Carlton avoids them all with ease. Gracie tries to clinch but Carlton is having none of it. Gracie wants to clinch. Carlton fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie scores a takedown into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Gracie throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Carlton regains half guard. Gracie sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carlton defending well though. Gracie passes to side control. Carlton is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control. Gracie tries to advance to mount but Carlton instead regains half guard. Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Carlton defends it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carlton manages to get to full guard.

Carlton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracie is looking to escape. Carlton with a couple of short strikes. Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carlton goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gracie is on top in guard.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gracie thows a big elbow that misses. Carlton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

Carlton chips away with some ground and pound. Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Carlton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carlton defends it well. Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Carlton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carlton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Carlton drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Carlton seems to have locked his on tight now - Gracie screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Carlton, as he picks up the win!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boyce goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Boyce throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Franko. Franko looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Boyce tries to bum rush Franko with a series of wild strikes but Franko uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Franko shoots in for a takedown but Boyce shows good takedown defense. Boyce slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Boyce doesn't manage to clinch there - Franko circles away.

McDonald get's back to his feet. Slewton misses the shot to the body. Slewton gets caught flat footed, as McDonald shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. McDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slewton swivels though and keeps the full guard. McDonald makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. McDonald stands and steps away. Slewton gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Slewton keeps the fight on the outside. Slewton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. McDonald wants to sweep but no luck. Slewton looking to pass the guard. McDonald tries to land a sweep but no joy. Slewton wants to control from the top but McDonald keeps moving. McDonald trying to keep a closed guard but Slewton is proving a slippery customer.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
